Mike Woodson to be next IUBB coach. Thad Matta to be associate AD

I like Thad Matta, and would've been fine if we hired him as HC if he were completely healthy. 

But I'm also very ignorant. I just don't see what bringing him on as an associate AD does.

I’m encouraged if the staff is excellent. If Matta proves to be healthy that would be huge. Maybe a Lewis type to the staff would make it bettter. At least an IU guy is change in what has been going in since the early 2000s

I hope they at least bring Lewis on staff. I hope I’m wrong but this gave me a giant punch right in the stomach. Matta being associate AD is a big plus tho. 
 

I’m rooting for Woodson to prove me wrong tho. I’m tired of wondering when IU will get it together. Hopefully Woody and Matta can work some magic.

Now Dolson needs to hire a world-class back and spine specialist. For Woodson & Matta.

This has the potential to go really well, or really poorly.  IDK.  If we couldn't get one of the few grand slam hires, this might have been worth the gamble?

One more thing: Screw Boston, screw the Celtics, and screw Brad Stevens...lol

I expect those in the portal to wear another uniform next year. This hire is a dead start in the recruiting process.

Not everyone.  I didn't like the Miller hire, said it was a double at best and could be looking again in 5 years.  Not a fan of this either.  Getting Matta takes it to 'dislike from 'is this administration actively trying to kill the program?'.

That announcement about Matta refers to him as an Associate AD, not an assistant coach so I don't see him actively involved in practices or sitting on the bench during games.

My opinion doesn’t matter, and you all know it already. I’m happy for those that are happy. I’m a fair weather fan for the first time in my adult life going forward. We will see how this works out.
