  1. Keyshawn Hall now linked to Kentucky. After a fully embarrassing offseason, the final product on paper could look extremely talented. Pieces would need to gel but 2 guards that get to the rim. 2 wing shooters both at the top levels. And a Center that projects as a NBA guy with skills. Size and athleticism too. Crazy how much things can change with the final 2 additions being top tier talents. (Assuming Hall, which isn’t a given)
  2. Not exactly but to a degree. The NIL figures have skyrocketed so much that it’s drawing the best players from every pool of player. Each year this percentage has risen. Ballo’s year at 1 million for a center players still had lots of options. Now with Top centers and some point guards drawing 4-6m it’s surpassing all available options by so much players are fighting their way in. With that, in addition to 5 years we are at a peak.
  3. Yep. I like him though. I think he helps. However, The amount of talent in college basketball is likely going to be better/than ever before. The reasons for it are. Nil Based 1. 2nd round picks come back to college 2. TOP players from the class ahead are reclassing to get money even if it means 2 years in college before entering draft. 3. We’ve become the best option for the best Euro/foriegn players based on pay. Then you add the new 5 for 5 rules/similar to the Covid year plus a vastly increased payday. Gonna be an incredibly stacked year for talent. And then going forward. Comparing rosters this year to previous years isn’t an apple to apple comparison.
  4. This is along the lines of what I’ve been saying. Sam Alexis is a great piece, without question and a need but there are some legitimate program changers that will be out there and available. It’ll be just another chance to separate oneself on talent again. So although we improve, in the scheme of things if 25-30 teams improve more, we haven’t made up any ground despite the way it feels.
  5. No doubt. Makes the Sokolov addition virtually meaningless if so. Burton, Lindsay, Mustaf, Harris, Moody, Sisley, Yigi, Sherrill, Alexis is a 9 man rotation. With Karvala and Manhertz knocking on the door. While directly above quoted wanting Hall, there is zero chance we add both as even a 9 man rotation will be unlikely come B1G playing time.
  6. While I’d love Alexis and fits the roster really well, I think Hall raises the ceiling so much for a team like ours if he’s willing to fit in. 3 pointed scoring attack from Burton, Hall, Sherrill with others feeding off the gravity they would draw. He’s very efficient. Seems to me it won’t be us for a lot of reasons but if the staff can figure it out, our top 8-9 would be on par with a top rated team.
  7. Reneau is a beast in the college landscape. Loved him as a player. Someone will get a great one with him. It obviously won’t be us. Bailey, as bad as he was for us has a skill set. The B1G wasn’t his can of worms but he can find success in the right spot, and right position.
  8. The Oregon win on the road said to me the sky was the limit. Very impressive. And Kudos to Sarratt for making big time play after big time play in that Iowa game.
  9. That game wrecked my nerves. I was at another sporting event while watching this one from my phone. It felt like an L to me. But I wasn’t able to watch every single play like I normally do. Was so relieved to pull this W out.
  10. No doubt about it. Question is what will others do and will their additions be better than our addition. But certainly, fills a huge need if it happens.
  11. I think you might be onto something. The NIL will hold them back ultimately, but they could forge a nice path in the way Painter has, but to what level?
  12. Sam would be wonderful for this roster. And because I’m greedy, let’s rescind Sokolov spot since he doesn’t even care to come state side ( and DeVries doesn’t know who he is) and give that spot to Keyshawn Hall. lol. Then we would for once, actually have too much depth. Either guy makes me happy. I’d imagine a lot of Y5 guys end up playing this year. I think August will be a big month to determine the legalities.
  13. Would be an incredible piece. A definite starter. 3 level scorer that rebounds. As crazy as it sounds I might like Alexis better for this roster but either would be a huge boost.
  14. He’s a wannabe Trilly. But he does pretty good with his CBs
  15. “Jerry” CB’d Keyshawn Hall to Indiana. I don’t believe that for a second but it’s an interesting thought.
  16. For me, stranded island, greatest hits albums give you a huge variety of hits and long albums. Hard not to pick Greatest hits albums although I love the art of other albums more. With that thought in mind. 1. Van Morrison: Best of 2. Michael Jackson: Number one’s 3. Bob Marley: Legend 4. Beatles: 1 5. Al Green: Greatest Hits 6. Bob Dylan: the essential 7. Red Hot Chili Pepper: Stadium arcadium 8. Chance the Rapper: Acid Rap 9. 2Pac-Greatest Hits 10. Queen- Greatest Hits My 10 best albums list would look nothing like this but I’d want a variety, and quantity of song. This would give me that. I feel like I’m missing a Kings of Leon, Dave Matthews, Bob Schneider type of music that I’d miss. Hard to pick a single album even if they are my favorites.
  17. Just commented on this on another thread. Teams are allowed 15 now. And I feel the teams that can muster an extra payday would be willing to go past 13 for some of the guys that might be eligible. I feel they will come out of the woodwork. Also, seems like high odds of happening legally in my opinion.
  18. Moody’s play thus far matches what his HS games looked like. He always seemed like an underrated prospect to me nationally. Granted the competition is poor, but so far he looks to be beyond his years. The prospect of Alexis as 13 would be the perfect fit to fill the roster. Hoping that happens, although the chaos that will happen nationally if 5/5 super seniors become eligible would be utter chaos. We’d need a deep dive into open schollies, then you know other schools would utilize the 15 scholarship size to bring in superstars, so the benefits Alexis would afford us, might be a net negative based on what other big spenders would do with the opportunity.
  19. Would be very odd unless the 5 for 5 would allow him to be an active player eventually. Otherwise, play small and let the walkons play.
  20. I think the schedule is great! No big complaints. Just worried we won’t perform like we need to. Some fun games to look forward to. Arkansas will give us athletic tests and some fun players to see. Mizzou as well. 3-1 would be perfect!
  21. I wasn’t thinking that. I’m expecting both are likely gone. More the point our WR room looks great this year. And Cig can grab a Marsh-like WR out of the portal with experience again. It’s the experience vs youth debate. Although with Sales, you get 2 years. So that’s a bonus if ready year 1.
  22. This could be fun for the sake of fun and for the sake of perception. Here’s where my mind goes though. Is he as a freshman as good as year 3 Marsh or even Becker? Unlikely? Idk. Maybe he is and if so, WOW. The beautiful thing here is I trust the staff and Cig to find a piece one way or another that gives us a chance to compete at the top.
  23. Mustaf was out with lower body. Doesn’t sound serious but as a potential starter we need to get him healthy
  24. Are u watching? Manhertz is scoring, how is he looking?
  25. Hopefully we can open things up and spread this lead out a bunch.
