To me it sounds like we likely have a verbal agreement and this 2 weeks is to review the contract for other terms that perhaps have not yet been discussed but are not the big ones.  I am not sure why else Scott would hint at basically one candidate unless in his mind there are multiple logical non college options.  I would not discuss or suggest much unless "Scott got his man" and they are just negotiating small things.

As great as that would be, saying he has 2 weeks to decide doesn't really sound like putting in a 2 week notice to their current employer to me.

Sounds like Scott has a plan. As often as he talks to Brad if he's still working that situation, maybe it's possible. Can we presume that the agent contacts have been made with Dusty? That's probably several weeks from taking shape. I wonder who is the next teir of contacts?

Take it how you want. I don't think he's calling Brad in two weeks and saying times up sorry. I think there is more to this than that. I don't think he could say hey guys I'm really close to signing one of the biggest names in the sport.

We “had our guy” last time too and then ended up with Mike Freaking Woodson… I really hope Dolson actually has other guys lined up this time. Otherwise, come on down Coach Randy. We’ll become one last multi-million dollar payday for retirement age former Hoosiers.

I know the end of your post is a joke.  But not sure if the beginning is.  I don't think Trilly has ever thrown anything random out just for clicks.  He's been wrong before, but everything he posts he has a source for.

While this is certainly possible, and has happened for elite executive people in the past (Theo Epstein and Billy Beane) it’s pretty rare. Given the team is selling. Current owners looking to sell 51%. I can’t imagine them wanting to sell majority stake and then give a couple % of their leftover to Brad. On the flip side, the new owner isn’t going to give a couple % to Brad and lose majority ownership.

Come on man, there is no way it ends up with another Woody.  No way.  I am 1000% confident that Dolson has other guys he will talk to if Stevens falls through.   We may not get who we really want, but it will not be another version of Woody.

I agree with this!  At least if BS turns us down and Dusty accepts the new contract, having Beard or possibly Drew as option C is a heck of a lot better than we could hope, it’ll never get to option F IMO
