  1. Cig coaches against complacency and RMK coached towards perfection which creates a lot of similarities, especially when they might get interviewed after a good half or a game. Both don’t dole out cookies and tend to find a few things to get pissed about that most of us miss cuz we are celebrating the wins.
  2. Offensive and d lines, our strong points, looked pretty average today. Defense as a whole had a few guys with poor tackles or missed coverage. Very good to see Hoover and the passing game start off strong. Also glad Hoovers neck is flexible
  3. Love these. My prior company was a corporate sponsor and I used to try and encourage the athletic dept to let me carry the flag out for the greatest timeout in college basketball. Sigh, never happened and I probably would have tripped but what if…
  4. I could definitely see Hoover being ahead of Mendoza at this stage. Mendoza’s took a few games before he settled in. Mendoza also had to overcome getting sacked a ton when at Cal and to trust his line at IU. I would argue that is a longer process than overcoming the picks, at least at this stage
  5. Are those under armor socks and asics shoes? C’mon Adidas
  6. This morning at about 9:30 a driver plowed into the Milligan University cycling team hitting 8 of the 9 riders. 2 died at the site. 5 others are in the hospital. My daughter goes here and while the athletic community is very tight, the entire school is as well. One of the riders is a friend of my daughter and while still in the hospital, seems to be doing well can you imagine getting that call as a parent or making that call as the school president? School starts next week and only athletes are around now Send some prayers for these poor families and for students who lost teammates and friends
  7. Plus we saw how slow we came out of the blocks last year diring the ODU game. Rourkes first game against FIU was tame as well. Other schools play tough games with new players right away but I really don’t mind the current approach if it builds for being competitive in the CFP.
  8. Congrats but they probably already know
  9. To make I worse this post gets a women’s basketball forum tag to further show the disrespect BTW, what is with these tags
  10. I love that we continue to get the lack of respect as I think our staff absolutely excels in that underdog role. Come on, piss off our team. Come on.
  11. Did we find out what his recovery timetable is expected to be?
  12. I work in the oil and gas industry and can’t believe I have not watched much of this one yet. Some of the language made it hard when kids are around but had another one graduate this summer. That should help
  13. Stumbled on The Last Ship a couple weeks back. 5 seasons and a very good watch. Only complaint was when they yell “cover me” then they run before their help has a chance to start covering. Still good though
  14. I just cannot remember Staes. Did he play much? Mostly a blocker? If he returns would he be ahead of the young but highly regarded TEs?
  15. I agree. Have to admit though that while i think Sam would give us some back up depth in the middle he always seemed to me to be undersized and did not necessarily make up for that with tremendous athleticism. Better than that guy from overseas that I have already forgotten about though.
  16. I went to the Peach Bowl and it was great but if I could have chosen again I would have to go with the Rose Bowl. I probably enjoyed the championship more on my couch but I am sure being there would have possibly been the best. Something about the Rose Bowl and crushing Alabama
  17. Looking to put something up on my office wall. My old CFO was an OSU fan and had the horseshoe stadium print. Was probably 20x30:ish. Good size but open to ideas. What have you found that you think was a Great Wall piece?
  18. Kind of the same excuse where at the end of a basketball game where you can’t call some fouls cuz you have to let them play. It was a definite flop where the flopper did not care if his caused someone to get a card erroneously. Certainly a tough thing in soccer to have to go down a player though at any point.
  19. I like how you mention that though in high school they are “pro” athletes. A friends son plays WR and is taking visits to MAC/group of 5 tier schools. When not in season he is competing in 7v7 stuff, receiver camps etc. runs track to work on speed and overall athleticism but generally is working his tail off to prepare.
  20. The World Cup has been great all around. The US team played good except for Belgium. A B for them and hopefully they can build off it. The game experience A’s all around. I think having games in cities like Indy where you could enjoy a walk to several pubs/bars after could have made it an A+. The international fans experience has been awesome. Many expressed great enthusiasm for outreach country and it was great to see how people are great when you get politics out of things and just enjoy different cultures and their people. And the best part, it provided a fun distraction while we wait for our version of football. What a great summer. Let’s land a local 5* receiver, start summer camp (we have that right?) and get this 3.0 version of Cignetti ball started.
  21. Had not thought about the ‘22 class missing both of these. Have to agree on the lawsuit coming.
  22. I did not read the final version but thought it was not open to kids who eligibility expired already in 26
  23. The Tartan Army was great though and even being outnumbered 70/30 they were loud and fun. We got lucky with a cool night in Miami too with temps around 87 when the game started.
