Football recruits commit and decommit a ton. This guy committed to IU, IU then goes on to win the NC, and then he decommits a few months later? My guess is he got a better money offer somewhere and Cig said he wasnt paying. Cig still got him to commit, I dont think its a Cig can't recruit HS problem. I think some guys are more financially motivated than others and Cig has a limit on what he would pay a 4 star freshman guy like him. If a guy wants to decommit after last season because he may not be getting top dollar? Good luck elsewhere imo. Some freshman are going to be worth going over your limit for, but most aren't.

Burton will play at least 30+ mpg at point, and Lyndsay/Moody will spot the remaining minutes most likely. If Burton gets hurt, we're ****ed most likely, but *most* teams are going to be ****ed if their starting PG who averages 18+ ppg is out for an extended period of time. Still need a competent backup big in my opinion for spot 13 (8 or 9 on the depth chart)

While it did feel a bit early. A lot of teams liked him, especially after his performance at the senior bowl. He was a huge riser on draft boards post CFP and Senior Bowl. My guess is he was going Round 4 to somebody, so SF liked him enough to pull the trigger at the end of the 3rd.
