"This is unquestionably one of the top jobs in America. As someone who grew up in the Midwest loving the game of basketball, I've always admired the IU Basketball program for its championship-level success, tradition, and fan support," DeVries said. "There's a passion to succeed at the very highest levels both within the Big Ten and in the NCAA Tournament, and that's a desire that as a coach I share. On top of that, the alignment is there on a department and university level to make that happen.  I'm excited for this opportunity and am ready to work relentlessly to assemble a staff and a roster that competes for championships."

Love that

Work, work, work that portal, babeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!

1 interesting element for the current roster: DeVries got 10/6 out of Amani Hansberry, who’s very similar, though not nearly as good, as Reneau.

I’ve already found 1 thing to be annoyed about with Devries. My phone is convinced the V is capitalized and it’s not taking no for an answer.

DeVries is actually a somewhat common surname in Dutch-speaking parts of the world and refers to a proper place (Friesland, in northern Netherlands). So it makes sense the V is capitalized.

Fun fact, the language of Friesland is the closest living relative to the English language. One rhyme that is sometimes used to demonstrate the similarity between Frisian and English is "Bread, butter and green cheese is good English and good Fries" (pronounced like freeze, not like french fries, to be clear).

Lol, Indiana basketball is so cooked. Completely Underwhelming.

Oh well. Let’s see what he does with his 4 years. Not much expectations to beat.

Pretty much my thoughts. Very uninspiring hire.

Interested to see what, if any staff follows. Amani Hansberry and Sencire Harris who are both solid role players that excel on the defensive end seem tied to Chester Frazier who played at Illinois and coached there the year prior. Ostrom has been around a ton of good basketball, his tenure at IU with Archie be damned.
