We look to be very good next year. But unlikely to be elite. Conwell and Dix would have been elite.

You do know Rome wasn't built in a day, right?

Right now the goal is to get a competitive team on the floor that can finish upper end of Big10 and make the tournament without doing the bubble thing.  Build culture, start winning and the studs will come.

Wilkerson a Hoosier

GREAT GET!!!!
I had faith we weren’t going to have to put Sigma Nu’s on the court.

109/245 (44.5%) from the three last year !! OUTSTANDING.

82.2% FT

4 rb’s per game

Only not great number I saw, with a 10 second look, was an assist/to of 1/1.

I would love to know how we pulled this off.  An Arkansas fan site, Wilkerson is from Arkansas, mentioned that Wilkerson had spoken with Kansas (they claim Kansas was pushing very hard), Auburn, Arkansas, SMU, Miss and others, with no mention of IU. They described his game as follows:

If John Calipari were to put out a help wanted sign in the transfer portal for Arkansas, it might look something like this…

Needed: A knock-down 3-point specialist. Ability to create his own shot. Not afraid of the moment. Willingness to come in and contribute right away.

Sam Houston State guard Lamar Wilkerson would check all of those boxes.

Wilkerson has emerged as one of the top players in the transfer portal and a major target for the Razorbacks – as well as most of their SEC brethren.

Regarding Bailey: I like him a lot.....as a stretch 4 with spot 5 minutes.

He is very good in high post/face up/drives. Strong with the ball and finishes through contact. Actually seeks contact but isn't weak going up with it (love that). His 3 point shot is good but very slow at gathering before getting into his shot. He'll need to work on that part of his game. Has a high BBIQ from what I can tell. Don't think you'll see him force crap when a double team comes (Reneau). His defense is an issue but if that can be coached up I think he could certainly play the 5. Bottom line he's going to be a good one that from an offensive standpoint will drive opposing B1G bigs crazy.

Can we agree that in 93 years of the 31 previous coaches, there were two successful hires? We haven't been known for our consistency in that area.

I care solely about the modern ear and since 2000, this is the first of 6 men's basketball hires made without restriction or influence from people and things who/which had no business influencing it.    We can agree, with a "but..."
