Liked Rab’a writeups on Harris and Lindsay in particular as encouraging

Yep, agree

Yeah, problem is sponsorship. Would think they could negotiate out the need to use Adidas balls but that’s the deal

Michigan Coach Dusty May to Dallas Mavs
HoosierHoopster replied to JimmerNoe's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
One of these things is not like the other. Crean rebuilt IU from the ashes of Sampsongate, won B1G titles, took us to multiple SW16’s, gave us Yogi, Cody, Vic, Wat, OG, etc. He wasn’t a great basketball mind but he doesn’t belong in the discontent over the abomination of coaching that was CMW or the failure of CAM -

That’s intriguing. Sounds like the kind of guy we hope sticks around for his soph year and we get to see it all come together. Hope we get continuity with this group and Karvala keeps developing with that athleticism

Let’s talk Roster! 2026/2027

And the same handwringing and speculation. We’ll get to see some international play soon, we got some good players, we’ll see how they shake out I don’t see the point of constant handwringing and complaining but it’s a message board so that’s what it is. DeVries and staff just missed the tourney with a much weaker roster, I’m looking forward to making the tourney again and building a team with the multiple underclassmen we now have. It’s up to staff to get us there, if they don’t there will be pitch forks, and they know that. -

Remains to be seen, but I think Sisley hit the frosh wall. He started out strong, kid has the heart and showed he has a pretty decent game that’s developing. He’s in good position to have the frosh to soph jump, at the 4 not the 3. -

^^ It's June. Lighten up Francis! -
Yeah he has to develop a prime go to move, Garnett’s been saying the same thing — and he involves his team more than young MJ or Kobe and doesn’t look like he wants to tear your heart out so more like a LeBron type sort of but I would say more a Duncan or Jokic than a MJ. Joker had to be pushed as his career grew to take on the primary scorer role and Duncan was always a team first guy. Duncan may be the best PF ever. At 22 he still has so much upside— Knicks can be happy now, next year they’ll be back to whining and crying
-
Wemby’s only 22. Imo i/ experience and not skill, he’s fully capable of dominating anyone but he was carrying the hopes of all Spurs fans at 22 with no prior finals experience and most other starters around him are very young. Next year he’ll be finals mvp and NBA champ imo. also some poor, inexperienced coaching involved here
-
If coached by Pop they would’ve won this series. The 27 point collapse in NY with the Spurs taking like 8 3’s in a row down the stretch never happens under Pop, and yep, more poor coaching at home. It’s both a young team inexperience as a playoff team, and a team coached by a young relatively inexperienced coach. Spurs will probably come back next year with a highly motivated Wemby, like the highly motivated Duncan early on after their finals loss, and with the experience to know what it takes to win a finals.

Good list. I don’t think OG is that high - yet - but largely because of the role he’s played. He’s kinda similar to Kawhi who played a lot like OG early in his career - monster defender, played behind scorers on the Spurs early, didn’t need to be big offensively, but the Kawhi took on the lead role and became one of the best. Does OG have that kind of turn in his game? Doubt it at this point but still think his overall game is undervalued. Nonetheless I don’t see him that high at this point. i’d put Bellamy 3 and EJ 4. EJ’s career was derailed by injury early, after he was playing at a top 10 level, but he adjusted his game and has been a key player for an extended NBA career (kinda like Rose)

Injuries after injuries. Sucks
-
Yeah Vic’s injuries derailed his path, he was outstanding and deservedly an all star early and came the injuries
-
OG is (somehow) underrated. He’s a monster defender and a high level two-way player, but as he scores on basically an as needed basis — he doesn’t really look to score unless needed and doesn’t try to be “the guy” offensively— he doesn’t get the attention that the high scoring guys get. But he’s dominant when needed, and imo the real key to this Knicks squad (who I mostly otherwise don’t care for). OG is flat out outstanding

As a longtime Pacers fan I’m admittedly biased. That said with no polls to substantiate it, in all the basketball circles I’m in (not sure about this one) the prevailing sentiment is F the Knicks. From their front office to their players, OG aside, yeah, can’t stand them.
-
Nope. As a long-time NBA fan I'll echo that most people out there absolutely hate the Knicks. Personally, love OG but Brunson is a total tool of a player, a shot-crazed chucker who doesn't know a good look from a bad one, and all the Knicks do is buy players to be competitive. The Spurs' 2nd half collapse losing their 27 point lead probably has sealed their fate this year, another sign of how young key players are (Wemby 22, Castle 21, Champagnie 24, Vassell 25, that's 4 starters and Harper is 20). Too bad, imo, both teams winning two away would've (really should've) been a wild Finals. Spurs are more talented, but still young, inexperienced - their first go round in the Finals. If I were a betting man I'd bet big on their sweeping through to the championship next season, baring major injuries. Kind of reminds me of when the Spurs lost early with Duncan, came back the next season and dominated to the championship.

(2026 IUWBB) - Camille Pangonis

^^ Yeah I would think there's a backstory we don't know about. Her numbers don't stand out but the writeups do talk about her as a strong rebounding forward with good court awareness.
