Why isn't the anger more directed at coach Cain anyhow? His ST units have been bad all year and had maybe the worst overall ST performances I've ever seen from a team in a single game (HS not included....woof). I mean we changed PR like 5 weeks ago and still haven't coached Becker or anyone else how to handle punt returns? Routinely give up 10-15 yards of field position. Then add all of the other ST crap and he's not earning his $ imo.

I'm not against this logic either. My point is more that a) it was his decision to make and he was going to take the heat b) he thought this gave us the best outcome despite it not working that way. Let's say they did miss it and IU gets the ball down to win game with a 36 yd FG, partly because he had 2 TO's to use. The narrative changes drastically doesn't it?

At least that's what he said in post game presser. Again had things gone as statistics would suggest IU would've had the ball at the 50 with 20 seconds and 2 TO's to get into FG territory.

Only issue I have with poll is having ND ahead of IU. Why exactly?

In regards to the TO thing for Minnesota's kick: I understand and agree with Cig holding 2 TO's in hopes they miss and IU gets ball at 50 yd line with chance to get in position to win with a FG. I don't know why he's getting killed for that honestly. The odds a college K is going to make a 60 yd FG is pretty low and last night was certainly an anomaly. I actually think his thought process was correct.

Just wild. I know it's just cliche talk but this team really never quits and just finds a way. Not as good as last couple years but they have the fortitude for sure. Also congrats Grant (not Cain) you stepped up big time dude!

Is Wilson better than Cherry or just older and wiser? Clearly Wilson brings the run factor but I wonder if Cherry isn't better fit for this skill set on offense.

It'll never happen for many reasons. One being that Cig won't let his QB's go to Manning camp over his own QB development. Conflict of interest. I'm half kidding but that did come up with Mendoza last year.
