  1. Just learned that Villanova's punter is 33 years old. The dream is alive!! I'm going to go out back and start practicing my kicking game.
  2. There is zero reason both can't be in the national spotlight. No need to rob Peter to pay Paul. Fund/support both and be nationally relevant annually in both marquee sports in collegiate athletics.
  3. I agree. OSU and USC at home. Roadies against UM, Nebraska and Washington. No clue what to expect from N. Texas. I think next year's schedule is tough.
  4. I'm not sure there's ever been an easier star of a team for me to root for. He embodies humility, graciousness, courage, toughness and discipline. That's my QB
  5. Always need depth on the lines. Problem there is so does everyone else. I'd say DB is thin. Any NFL guys know if Ponds projects well for the draft this year? Clearly production says yes but measurables probably tell another story.
  6. I still look at Alberto and suspect he'd be fine waiting and developing another year before taking over as a RSJR. Maybe I'm crazy. Staff will know what's best but if I'm him and I just watched what they did with my brother I'm good with getting 2 years of running the show.
  7. Wish this wasn't at noon
  8. There are really only 2 factors that could make him even consider coming back. One is the time/experience with his brother. The other is if they don't win the natty this year and that really, really, really matters to him. Neither is a good enough reason. Go get filthy rich and play the game you love. So much can change in a year where he would not be in this same position. Gotta strike while the iron is hot.
  9. Only 2 playoff teams can boast more than 1 win against another team in the field. Georgia (6 Ole Miss, 9 Alabama) and Indiana (2 OSU, 5 Oregon).
  10. Not really backtracked. Just clarified that he was just saying IU was a team to watch and that he wasn't ready to predict anything.
  11. Larry on X said IU is a team to watch for Marsh. That was the 1st place I saw it. BTW this Larry fella is getting a lot of things right lately.
  12. Ahhhh lol! Good call then
  13. Cig couldn't care less what some blow hard that's watched highlight clips of a kid thinks he should be rated in stars. Since I trust Cig and his staff at talent evaluation over any of these other people, I also couldn't care less.
  14. If DeBoer has any self-awareness he realizes that he's never going to be able to live up to his predecessor. He may want to get out while his stock is still high? That fan base is already not happy with him and another year like these last 2, or worse, next year and he'll likely be forced out with stock down. Being the HC at UM is one hell of a consolation if that's how you want to look at it. Idk if UM wants him or if he wants to leave Bama but I could certainly see where everyone involved could see this as a good thing.
  15. Friends of mine hope it's Wink
  16. Why would you even say that? Take it back.
  17. Am I the only one that thinks this top 12 thing is completely dumb, unnecessary and inconsequential? I mean ND sitting at 12 and the committee not wanting them can just simply say "ok, you're 13th now" problem solved.
  18. Will they only accept payment in the form of ebay gift cards?
  19. If someone wanted to be negative they would say that it was Daley when he stepped up behind Wyatt. Sorry, this one just really freaking bums me out.
  20. This would be an absolute kick in the dick and there's no way to spin it to be anything other than that. Had Wyatt not been out already I think we'd be fine but this is a big big blow.
  21. Apparently the thread via 247/Peegs has been deleted about Daley. Not sure to take that as good or bad news???
  22. I live my life by believing everything I read on the internet as fact. I read that somewhere and clearly they were wrong lol.
  23. I've read otherwise. So they are NOT brothers?
  24. Love the Haines idea but there are problems. 1) Cig has enough energy and desire to kick @$$ that he may coach til 80 (on board with that btw). 2) Even if Haines leaves and he wants the IU job some day he could most likely still come back and get it. 3) He's way too good to remain as a coordinator for that long. Appreciate him while he's still here On a bright note I have full trust in Cig's ability to evaluate people and make a great replacement hire if/ when that time comes.
