Just an FYI -- there was no such statement. It was information that apparently was leaked from someone within the athletic department to the media. 

There has never been such a statement and TBH, I wouldn't necessarily expect one. Well, except for Woody's defiant declaration on Senior Day.

This is why I'm having trouble getting my hopes up. The information came from the IU beat writer from the largest paper (or whatever you call it these days) in the state. Surely he wouldn't run with it unless he had 100% credible intel.

Yes I was told that Woodson met with Trey and Leal on Saturday to give them their deal. This week he has met with Malik, and might hear him announce soon that he'll be back.

Yep, and then Dolson could have been fine with that coming out the way it did because it’d quiet the noise of what he could trying to get done behind the scenes.

It doesn't bother me personally, but I can't imagine some folks are too pleased with how Woody speaks in press conferences and especially when he's in front of fans, and I'm not talking about the arrogance. Like, saying "Indiana Basketball is the s**t" is hilarious, but in front of a crowd at a family event? Certainly a choice.

If that is how Scott D etc feel I hope they step back and ask themselves “what is the upside to keeping Woody for next season”?
The answer is obviously that there is zero upside to another season.  Why delay the inevitable?

As much as I'd love to have Pearl on the sideline, I'm still coming to terms with the fact that yes IU leadership really is stupid enough to keep Woodson.

Making to NCAA's isn't enough to keep your job at Indiana IMO. If it was, Tom Crean should still be our guy. There's zero momentum in the program right now. Beating 4 sub .500 programs is not good enough.
