  1. Everybody copes with IU being mediocre in their own way. If people use this place for a therapy session to get some things out then so be it. It actually shows how great this place is that even when IU is down in the dumps people still come on here and hang out. I don’t even need to talk out IU when I come on here. I can head over to the college basketball thread and enjoy the day of fantastic hoops that’s going to start here soon with a wonderful community of posters who love college basketball

  2. Rooting for a loss is rooting for the IU basketball program. The IU powers that be have done absolutely nothing to show they’ll make a move if their hand isn’t forced. Wins do nothing at this point but increase the likelihood of a fifth Mike Woodson season.

  3. So Woody is pissed off he is not going to be back next year and he thinks I will show them, I am going to wear the tie color of the other team....that will show em!?!?!? LOL I love this place!!!

  5. I was a very enthusiastic fan, drove my wife nuts. I knew who their 3-4 games were, the dates and I would arrange my schedule around their games, even when they played in Maui or Alaska. I’ve been watching since 1973, seen all three National Titles. This year my wife has had to tell me when they play and sometimes I tape the game if something else comes up. I’ve never done that before. That’s the apathy I mentioned and if something doesn’t change this year, I am afraid it could get even worse next year and I am sure I am not alone.

  6. There is a difference about caring about IU basketball and feeling apathy towards this team or coaching staff.

  8. Here is my thing on the watching vs not. Last Wednesday my son had a game the same time as IU. Normally I’d avoid seeing the score and watch it beginning to end when I got home. That night I just kept an eye on the score during timeouts and turned it on where it was when I got home. I won’t be home from church on Sunday right at 12:00, but instead of watching beginning to end I’ll pick up wherever it is. I still watch every game, but if things come up I’m not worried about it. I’m burnt out on the current regime. I have no doubt the fire will return after a change is made.

  9. For me? Anyone that is rooting for Maryland this weekend so that fans boo and Woodson gets fired can kiss my a$$. The IU powers that be are well aware we need a new coach. But never root against IU.

  18. Not a Domer, but here is what I have read: PFF rated Coogan (72.1) and Spindler (70.5) as the second and third best starting lineman of the eight lineman Notre Dame used this year. Both have lost their starting jobs earlier to younger players and this could happen again as Notre Dame has some really good, young offensive lineman. Both Coogan and Spindler started this season as backups but both took over the starting jobs in week three due to injuries and started the rest of the way. Uncertainty that could happen again probably is leading to their departures -- doesn't really look like it was because they played poorly but rather the staff going with younger players who are at about the same level. Between them, they started 49 games while at Notre Dame. Spindler played through shoulder and ankle injuries the last seasons, starting last year and starting all but the first two games this season. He got injured and missed the second half against IU this season but returned for the rest of the playoffs. Chan, the third guy mentioned, only took 6 offensive snaps this season. Mostly a special teams lineman. Was ranked as the 13th best tackle in 2022 but Notre Dame is stacked at OL. TL;DR: Spindler was solid at Notre Dame and caught in a numbers and youth game. Would likely be our top or one of our top OL were he to transfer to IU.

  19. Feels like he rode fifth year guys Bacot and Love from the previous administration. Now that he’s working on his own the results are starting to show some cracks in his coaching abilities. The risks of hiring former players continues to rear its ugly head.

  21. I would rather spend time here with like minded IU fans, reading and longing for a much awaited change. I get more out of reading respected, sourced posts anyway. I don’t watch anymore, I just check the score… lol

  26. Even though apathy maybe starting to set in, I still can’t root for them to loose! I just going to watch the game with less emotion than I usually watch. I’m with Stuhoo on this one!

  27. It’s looking like this will be the old guards final stand. Woody coaching is probably their last chance at controlling the program. For years and years people have been saying IU needs to modernize certain aspects of the program but people with influence still think IU can get by in this day and age by being IU. Look how hard it was for Archie to modernize the locker rooms. You sucked at coaching but thanks for getting that ball rolling on that. When and it is when not if they move on from Woody I would guess that the old guard will finally be driven out. The ammo Dolson will have to show them ok we did it your way and here we are. I’m guessing after the coaching change the IU program will change for the better

  28. Crazy that UNC’s coach has two sweet 16s in 3 years, a title game appearance, a conference title, and a 71% winning percentage in the ACC and they want him gone. Meanwhile we’re on pins and needles wondering if Mike Woodson will be fired when he hasn’t accomplished a fraction of what Davis has. Just shows the enormous difference between IU and a real basketball school.

  35. You missed the part about starting. Nobody said anything about being checked out yet. What I am afraid of now is I stop caring altogether but I am not there yet. A change needs made this year, year 5 I predict many fans will move on.

  43. A colleague gave an interesting observation to me earlier today…the past two games Mike has worn a tie with the opposing team’s colors. He says Mike knows he’s gone. Take it with a grain of salt, but he ain’t lying about the tie colors. It used to be red and only red until now.
