I like how an active player, probably our best player, went MIA for a weekend and it's just background chatter to the revolving door of random coaches being floated back and forth lol

But it is a coaching candidate thread...

Right. It's humorous how several people have asked for additional insight and it goes unnoticed. My point being that's how obsessed we are with getting a coach that can revive us. There's nothing quite like an Indiana coaching search!

Sadly, we don't do anything notable on the court.  This is the only real excitement we get every few years.

If we do start talking more seriously about Scott Drew, can we recap what happened with the Jurkin/Perea recruitments from more than a decade ago? I thought I remembered someone on the staff being unhappy with Perea and/or Jurkin tending toward IU, and at least implying that Perea might be deported for choosing the wrong school. I can't find the details. Can someone help me with that? I remember being rubbed the wrong way about how that recruitment was handled on Baylor's part.

Because it makes no f'ing sense.

They have blocked off times in their schedule for practice. They do have a class schedule.....

I'm pretty certain I heard some ex players talking about this on a Hysterics podcast....they didn't speak ill of coach, but if I'm remembering correctly, they talked as if it was his way of keeping them on their toes and out of trouble....as if they always had to be ready for practice or something like that...

I'm pretty sure that it has a lot to do with the program leadership this year and for the past 4 years... just a guess, though...

Semi-serious question lol.....How many times did you "ask the 8 ball" before you got the answer you wanted it to say?

P.S. This is not a dig...I'm Sweden on Brad..would love to have him, not sure what to think if he is actually still considering.

once - only once

Personally, I am not a fan of Scott Drew which mostly because of the Perea incident 10 years ago.  His threatening to deport the guy if he didn't go to Baylor really rubbed me the wrong way.  I know that he is big on the religious part in the program which is fine, but the whole threatening deportation was really low.

I’m impressed that he played for Crean, after graduating at a party

An "undisclosed" Butler player and his family had a lake cottage across the street from us.  Talking on day, He and his dad told us that Crean was heavily recruiting him.  They said that when he told Crean he was attending Butler, Crean called him every name in the book.  Dad said that his son basically had to hold the phone away from him and just hang up.

That's pretty bizarre behavior, if true
