Agree with a lot of this. WKU was athletic and disruptive with one guy that can really score. Type of team that likely wins their league and will be a tough 1st rd game. Great to play against that in an exhibition game as they clearly were looking to knock off Indiana. The starters weren’t good, which can be a good teaching game for the staff, and I suspect we will see some very good nights and some not so good nights from both Burton and Lindsay just based on how they are wired. Hopefully not both struggling at the same time. Sherrell is the one I worry won’t produce at the level needed. Skilled, can hit the 3 ball and is good defensively but doesn’t have much scoring variance and struggles when driving or putting the ball on the floor. Will be interesting to see how the staff develops and/or utilizes him.

My guess would be Evans.

When asked yesterday, Cig said “we are very optimistic about him”. Didn’t give a definitive return though

Yesterday Cig mentioned coming off two physical games, and this being the 8th game in a row, that some guys weren’t feeling the way they were 10 days ago. And they would have to “suck it up”. Reminds me of the stretch last year into Penn St and then kind of limping into the Wisco game (played lethargic in the 1H) Injury report will be interesting. Hopefully Khobi can inject some juice into the run game starting this week.

If it was the 2H, it would’ve been ill advised but worth a shot in the 1H

Drew Evans got abused and gave Hoover no time. Going to be a rough day in the film room for Evans, had a rough day. Never thought that would be an issue.

Thanks for the recap, good stuff. Built this team around rebounding was interesting to hear and certainly showed on Sunday. Rebounding, multiple shooters and rim protection will win you some games.

Winston was a counselor at the Bob Knight Basketball school I attended as a junior high kid. He was awesome to us, made a huge impression and became a favorite of mine.

Cig brought up facing Colandrea when he was a frosh at UVA. JMU won 36-35. Colandrea went 20-26 for 377 yards, 2TD and 1 int. The 2 TD’s were over 60 yards. Also rushed 7 times for -30 yards. obviously completely different teams but interesting that he exploited Haines D for long throws but was also sacked a bunch. I think IU has a good edge at the line of scrimmage but the QB could make this interesting ala NW game

Saw the visit breakdown of his contenders from the other site. Yikes to what he said is our pitch which is essentially we will hand him the keys and he won’t be on campus long.
