Huge get. As much as I’m looking forward to this season’s group, it is hard not to be very excited if most of those pieces return and you add two (likely) McD AA’s to the mix for the 27-28 season!

Winston was a counselor at the Bob Knight Basketball school I attended as a junior high kid. He was awesome to us, made a huge impression and became a favorite of mine.

Cig brought up facing Colandrea when he was a frosh at UVA. JMU won 36-35. Colandrea went 20-26 for 377 yards, 2TD and 1 int. The 2 TD’s were over 60 yards. Also rushed 7 times for -30 yards. obviously completely different teams but interesting that he exploited Haines D for long throws but was also sacked a bunch. I think IU has a good edge at the line of scrimmage but the QB could make this interesting ala NW game

Saw the visit breakdown of his contenders from the other site. Yikes to what he said is our pitch which is essentially we will hand him the keys and he won’t be on campus long.

This assumes Lonergan has time to throw or is able to make plays off schedule. My guess is he won’t and D has a big bounce back game.

Kid is really good and only getting better and bigger. Took a slant 80 yards against Carmel Friday, out running their whole secondary which includes the highly regarded safety Drake Coellner. Dad played for the Colts- Justin Snow. Justin played at Baylor. Wouldn’t be surprised if the big Texas schools are heavily considered. He’s basically been offered by every top program though. Would be great to keep him local!

Great news! No further info from the guy close to it but can assume IU stepped up and did the right things to close the deal.

Heard some inside stuff here and it wasn’t especially favorable for IU. Not saying it won’t happen but IU’s approach of “we are IU and why wouldn’t you want to be a part of this” isn’t fully resonating.

Haven’t watched Branham live but have seen plenty of highlights and his stats against good competition and there is a lot to like. Looks like a possible McDAA and a kid that could help IU from the jump. That said, I’m way past taking much of Rabby’s player evals serious. He gets so biased with certain players and just often sounds like he’s making excuses for when they don’t play well. His evals and commentary on Lander, Cupps and Booker to name a few were borderline ridiculous if not embarrassing. And partly why I jumped off that site. If Trevor has things to say, I’m all ears. He is an evaluator. Rabjohns is a journalist. Anyway, looking forward to seeing more about Branham’s play this spring and summer.

Playing Sherrell at the 4 will come with some defensive issues against teams with stretch bigs. Plenty of tape on him in drop coverage and slow to shooters. Think Race Thompson trying to cover the perimeter…May see Sisley more in those games and AS more in the 5 role Offensive arsenal and rim protection though are upper level and much needed in the front court.

Anybody have access to advanced player metrics that would be willing to share? Curious to see the individual defensive efficiency type metrics on the signees. Pretty obvious most have been productive offensively at the P4 level. Can they keep guys out of the paint? Can they rim protect? Any defensive numbers out there?

5. Active rebounder on both ends, blocks shots. TN bigs missed a lot of shots at the rim, I assume Estrella was part of that but I haven’t seen the advanced stats.
