  1. Walk on from Westfield that was one of 4 WO’s to be kept during the coaching change. Believe he is graduating in the spring so has a chance to get a post grad degree and play more somewhere else. Saw his Dad at a Peach Bowl pre game party and he said Jack told him they had a bad walk thru but said they would win by 2 TD’s or more. Felt pretty good after I heard that, lol.
  2. Anyone know the rules/timeframe around transfers working with their new team. Obviously Schott isn’t going to be drawing up the game plan but I assume he is able to communicate with our staff. Maybe he can provide a nugget or two about his former program?
  3. Umm, yeah. We don’t have a talent advantage, exactly my point. Lose a game and the coach is outcoached. I don’t have the hubris to know what adjustments “other teams are throwing at us” I know that puts me in the minority. Again, a lot of factors go into getting outscored in a college basketball game. And I’m not even a DDV apologists. I simply have no idea at this point what he can do with this program. Damn sure am not going to pass judgement 16 games into his tenure with this particular squad. And I would hope Iowa fans are in the same boat. But fans are gonna fan…
  4. Oh boy, here we go. Such an uninformed narrative lacking any nuance. You me or anybody else on the couch have no idea if he is truly outcoached just because they lose games or lose leads. We aren’t in the locker room, huddles, film room etc. Do we know what adjustments he did or didn't make on screen coverages, rotations, play calls, on and on?? Did he “out coach” Pope Medved and Hoiberg in the first half? If this team had a noticeable talent advantage and they are still blowing games, then there is cause for concern. Turnovers, foul trouble (Wilk at UK, TD yesterday) for long stretches, missed shots, other teams (also with good players trying to win games) making plays. So much that impacts games besides coaching decisions. Yesterday’s game was disappointing. A lot of factors led to blowing a large lead to a good team. You want to nitpick the roster construction, fine. I know one guy on here brings it up in 99% of his posts. But we also have no idea who all they tried to engage with or negotiate with. Other teams have $ and are trying to win as well. 16 games into this program - 12-4 (3-2) with good metrics with a limited team and the narrative is he is getting out coached after every loss. Let it breathe…
  5. “Out coached”. Goodness.
  6. Wonder if Iowa fans are going to moan and complain about McCollum after losing to a ranked team by 6 on their home floor
  7. In today’s presser, Lanning said “yes” when asked if Harris is available to play.
  8. IU is the home team which would be the side with sideline sections 107-113 for reference
  9. Bah humbug. Constantly.
  10. With the exception of Georgia (maybe), every time I watch SEC games this year, they continually beat themselves. This game is Exhibit A.
  11. 30 assists is second all time 17 3pfg made is tied for 3rd most At one point, I thought they had a chance to get to all time points in a game - 122
  12. Cig said nothing that happened in the game would prevent Coop from playing in the Rose Bowl. Rabjohns said in chat that he talked to him post game and there shouldn’t be any concern. Rabjohns stayed silent on Daley when he was asked several times.
  13. Cig made a comment in Sundays media availability about checking injuries during the game and “after the game”. I thought it was tongue in cheek but seems ominous now.
  14. Belmont off to a 7-0 start beating Toledo by 15 today. Keeping an eye on Carmel’s Sam Orme, 6-9 RS SO for Belmont. Very skilled stretch 4, 18 today and abg 15 a game, 37% 3pfg career. No inside info but definitely know they are a big IU family. Seems logical as a potential portal guy for the DDV system.
  15. So refreshing to listen to a presser of a coach that actually analyzes the game and can communicate that he understands in real time what is happening on the floor. Doesn’t need to “look at the film” or provide endless basketball cliches.
  16. Enjoyed watching him at Wake. Always heard he was a great guy, my friend was hosted by him on a visit there. Sad news
  17. On the positive side, former Avon HS gunslinger Henry Hesson will finally get his chance to start a couple games.
  18. Wisconsin’s defense has played well lately against two good teams ORE and WASH. They have had all the issues at QB and are offensively challenged. Can see a lower scoring game than we are used to lately. IU 27-6
  19. Exactly. Guessing it has been discussed here but I haven’t posted much on this side so not aware- but the Cig running it up is such a false narrative by opposing fans and media in general. We all watch so we know but just looking at the scoring of all the blowout games (no Iowa/Oregon), IU has a 4thQ scoring margin avg of 7 points. Seven. In quarters 1-3, margin is over 35pts on avg. and mostly in quarters 2 and 3. The backups play Q4, Fernando rarely, and mostly just run the ball. IU has ONE passing touchdown in those games in the 4th and that was last week with 11min to go by Alberto. What else do they want him to do? Take a knee for 15 minutes??
  20. Anybody have an idea of the pulse of the PSU crowd for Saturday? I don’t frequent opponents boards and haven’t seen any articles. First game at home with an interim coach in a lost season. Are we expecting the normal 100k fired up to beat #2 or expecting some no shows and a no longer interested crowd? For the record, I dont think it will matter much as I expect IU to play well once again.
  21. Fun to see for the good guys. Are we allowed to talk about Pat Knight being a terrible basketball coach? Marian was on solid footing before he arrived. He was awful at Lamar. Awful at TT. He was going to be the Stephen Pearl of IU. Anyway, fun to see the 3’s flying.
  22. Exactly. But my kids say it all the time and Kinney somehow is social media famous for it
