  1. Exactly. But my kids say it all the time and Kinney somehow is social media famous for it
  2. FWIW- The Athletic had an article today about the “missing piece” for 2026 title contenders. They detailed Purdue, Duke, FL, BYU and Tex Tech. And mentioned three others- Houston, UConn and Arizona, as other teams with a near complete roster. No mention of UK.
  3. The timeline doesn’t. The AD says it very clear. We wanted to talk to him in STL. Why not the Monday after STL? Had a week. That’s when Iowa talked to him. All good tho
  4. I’m sure I missed your post previously but I don’t understand the timeline based on what the AD says here. Why did IU need to interview him in STL? He had a week after the MVCT until Selection Sunday. Sounds like he talked to Iowa during that week. Sorry that I missed it but why couldn’t IU wait until those days after the Valley Tourney? Note- I would be happy with either guy so this isn’t a complaint. Just curious.
  5. https://www.desmoinesregister.com/story/sports/college/drake/drake-bulldogs/2018/03/30/drake-basketball-darian-devries-head-coach-aplington-dana-altman-creighton/473123002/# Found this article from his Drake hire, nice insight. I had listened to a podcast this summer about his HS FB coach Ed Thomas who was tragically killed by a former player. Called Sacred Acre for those interested. Thomas was hugely successful, extremely disciplined and no doubt a big influence on DDV. Knew his brother was an NFL player but guess I forgot that DDV was an outstanding QB and won a couple state championships. Always been a leader.
  6. Wright would make no sense given the timing of this unless for some reason they let him do the CBS gig thru the tourney. otherwise it would have been announced Monday. he is this search’s version of Billy D minus the horse farm
  7. McCollum was on with Childers and Neuheisal yesterday. They asked him about the distraction of being considered a candidate for open jobs. He said there was speculation every year and his 4 D2 guys know that they will have his undivided attention. He doesn’t compromise on that. Based on that, if he is the hire, it doesn’t sound like there would be an announcement until his season ends. He is an excellent interview btw
  8. I didn’t hear any booing or grumbling. But had to stand up on a bunch of occasions cheering and imploring them to get a stop. It was a good crowd despite the shitty play.
  9. Well those three were at Nick’s playing sink the biz with a friend of mine (and others) after the game Saturday. So probably a good guess lol
  10. Bingo. Crowd was great today, did all we could to help.
  11. Have a mutual friend. I know he definitely reached out to IU at least one time. Once Jim Phillips left the AD spot, things changed. Wouldn’t be surprised if he moves somewhere this coaching cycle. My friend said he hasn’t asked him about IU while the season is still going on but maybe will hear something later this week.
  12. Seems advantageous for IU that Oregon has to play on the road tomorrow, then travel east this week and play a game which would be 9am local for them. Win helps us stay out of Dayton
  13. His brother played for Wade at LSU. Likely an endorsement.
  14. I see the Pacers GM quite a bit at his kids events, same day the Pacers are playing.
  15. Sounds like the Wolf’s used to be in your route. Without particulars, can you share generally what issues Mick had with IU 4 yrs ago? Admin, fans, etc?
  16. Left field candidate- Randy Bennett?
  17. Ha. Will always be a part of the IU family
  18. Exactly. Scary if the Donors are actually conducting meetings.
  19. By this account he met with IU twice which makes me think of what Crean said on the HH pod. Crean only met with IU brass once in a late night meeting in a Chicago hotel. He mentioned regrets that he didn’t find out more about the situation and they probably should have found out more about him. Realize the search form does a lot of vetting but crazy to think how these high profile jobs become cloak and dagger missions and, in the instance of those two hires, neither coach has the opportunity to visit IU, learn more about the fit etc. Also why I am skeptical that all these flights are actually resulting in meetings. Past history doesn’t indicate such.
  20. We aren’t but might be using him as a consultant.
  21. You are aware that Turgeon consults college programs and coaches, correct?
