You are aware that Turgeon consults college programs and coaches, correct? -

Isn’t Turgeon doing some sort of coach consultant role now ala Eddie Fogler? If Dolson/search firm are talking to him, it would assuredly be in that context. No way possible despite any spin that he is a HC candidate at Indiana -

Akron has the most money and best facilities in the MAC (I think LeBron is named/contributed to a practice facility). Not a coincidence that they are at the top of the league. Groce is a good coach, but he had his shot at Illinois. No chance for a gig like IU. -

Pretty decent chance Marty would be on staff if Brownell were to be hired. There’s my insider contribution to this thread. Disclaimer: this is not an endorsement that Brownell should be hired. -

I saw him wearing it at the Michigan game in the concessions under the seats and thought it was Epps but wasn’t sure what Epps looked like. Now I do lol. -

Thought I read it was a MTE with these two as the headliners, with an earlier game at home opponent TBD. Probably needed to confirm the venue and logistics. -

Funny you say that, and I am generally in Beard’s corner l, but I had a guy that is connected to Ole Miss people tell me last weekend that several of their donors are fed up with him. Said he had promised NIL to kids that wasn’t secured yet or keeps coming back to them for $. just what I hear, may or may not be valid -

Sorry we are getting away from the real reason for this thread but this statement is why I think Crean was terrible (using that lightly) at the end of his UGA tenure as it coincided with the new portal rules. his best teams were veteran teams that seemingly were used to all of the manic behavior and could tune in what was important. You bring in a bunch of new players each year to that style of coaching, it is a recipe for disaster. He is in a great spot. He loves to talk and TV gives him that avenue. -

Probably effective for marines preparing for life/death scenarios and I no doubt believe that Crean read it and applied it. For college kids playing basketball? It’s a stretch that was universally disliked by the team. we’ll agree to to disagree. -

If you’ve ever listened to Hysterics podcast, multiple players have confirmed it. Not a secret. And a crazy way to run things. He claimed it helped them be ready to adapt when things didn’t go their way in games. Dumb. -

Seems plausible, maybe he is going the Eddie Fogler route and consulting AD’s on hires. Would be a great resource and maybe the more he learns about the job, he may just want to throw his own name in. Probably some reasons his teams declined post covid at UVA which could be overcome here. Not entertaining by winning 27+ games a year is not a bad option. The pause in this story is our donors don’t seem to keep a lid on anything. Can’t imagine Bennett was in town and these guys weren’t spreading the news. -

Yes, he was an assistant at Iowa st before the SDak St and UNLV gigs. He married a former player at Iowa St. Again, why would he be interested in Iowa? -

Why would Otz be interested in Iowa?? Don’t recall any connection there and he has a better job at Iowa St. maybe Devries and McCollum. -

Mick is a funny guy, well liked in the coaching community. I know a guy who worked for him (you can figure it out) and he and his wife loved Mick. Yes, a bit of a wacko on the sidelines similar to Hurley but he doesn’t give any rope. The inmates do not run the asylum and his teams play their ***** off. Some of the pressers remind me of a guy that used to coach here. Calling out the B1G BS travel/scheduling, not accepting his players playing soft. I personally have no issue with it. I think IU fans would warm up to him pretty quick as other fans complain about him. Where I pause is that his teams consistently lack offensive efficiency, though his recently talented team at UCLA was near the top. It has been proven that you need a highly efficient offense to win a title. I believe May could deliver that here. Goes back to the high floor/lower ceiling argument with Cronin. -

You seem to want to do a favor to the masses that are being misled. Perhaps you should share your unique position of how you know that Stevens is 100% not going to coach IU? -

Maybe he thought that style would (and largely has) work in the Pac12 since it is unlike most west coast programs.. now it is just the same style as the rest of the B1G -

I was fortunate to have great seats today, right behind the CBS crew. I watched Woody and May a lot today. Nothing earth shattering here but it is crazy how little Woody does in a game, other than the gripes at the ref. The players dont listen when he does try. May was very active and engaged. Just polar opposites. He is stealing $. Make it end. -

Yes, normal spot at scorers table right near where Woody stands like he is frozen
