I zoomed in and cropped this photo of Sam with a big smile. After watching the highlights, he was definitely welcomed with open arms by the entire team. Seeing that joy on his face makes me wonder if he really sees potential on this year’s team. I can’t help but think that it hasn’t crossed his mind about maybe/possibly trying to get another year. JMO He would definitely be an instant upgrade and add more depth, skill and size to our front court. Sam Alexis, Oklahoma City Appeared in three games in Las Vegas and posted 3.3 points in 10.2 minutes per contest. He shot 57.1% from the field whiled adding 3.0 rebounds, 1.7 steals and 1.7 blocks. Also played in a game in Salt Lake City and posted two points, five rebounds and an assist in 9.7 minutes.

I think IU’s best opportunity to land Coach May was when he was at Florida Atlantic. That’s when IU decided or (a Quinn Buckner led Board of Trustees) pushed to give Woodson one more year to prove himself….lol I’m sure Dusty was full aware of the Woodson’s hot seat, angry IU fans and the pressure of stepping into that position at that time. The timing could not have been worse! I’m sure he felt going to Michigan was a chance to prove himself at his first Power 4 school without all the possible pressures that could follow him all with his Indiana/IU connections. IMO, this quote from an Ann Arbor newspaper summed up his decision NOT to come to IU after Woodson was let go….. And it was really, really tough to leave FAU. And when you start to plant roots and develop relationships, it's difficult and daunting to think about going and restarting that again. And so I just felt like right now, this stage, this place really, really fits me, us and we love to be at Michigan."

…says he’s listed at 6’ 5”. From that pic, that puts Coach Cignetti at around 6’ 3”. I didn’t realize Coach was that tall.

….get the feeling that he sees IU “up ahead at the next exit”. I think his mind said KU, but his heart is IU.

....I took my AP Studio Art students on our annual trip to the IU Art Museum/ Fine Arts building. One the big things I always look forward to is our reservations at Buffalouie's for lunch. I walked up to order the Mendoza Bros. Burger, after looking on their online menu, he said they no longer server that burger. He went on to tell me Fernando's new agent came in the restaurant and had them take it off the menu because he's not with IU anymore.....

FIBA Rules: FISU competitions are affiliated with FIBA (International Basketball Federation), which often applies strict eligibility rules, restricting players who have not represented the USA. ....Yep, at least for these summer exibition games, we won't be able to see or hear about Samet Yigitoglu (born in Turkey) until the season officially starts. Currently, he's the only one not a naturally born citizen of the US.

Here's the thing about all of this...... Pavia's "tough guy" act and "little man syndrome" has continued to follow him everywhere he goes. You have to admit, his public antics and inmature outbursts definitley hurt his status going into and throughout this draft process.

...nope, he didn't sign with the Ravens. He just got invited to their minicamp. An invitation to a rookie minicamp tryout is a "needle in a haystack" opportunity for undrafted players, often described as an unsalaried tryout or a three-day audition to catch the attention of coaches and scouts. Unlike signed undrafted free agents, tryout players are not on the 90-man roster and do not sign a contract immediately; instead, they compete for a chance to be added to the team for training camp.

.....honestly, JMO, but it's a no brainer for any kid to want to play for a future Hall of Fame (NCAA) Football Coach in Cignetti. He wins, knows talent, developes talent and gets result. I'm sure Coach Belichick is trying to sell him his obvious NFL connection, but what really benefits him to play at UNC over IU? Maybe he's just trying to chase a bag $. If so, that's not something Coach Cignetti's going spend much time going back and forth with. Besides......, he, Monshun, and Brewer are supposed to be visiting this weekend. We will see who all shows up and hope it's a good one! jmo

JMO, but I see some similarities between Moody and Oladipo. I would be awesome to see Moody had the potential success of a Oladipo type of player. Obviously he was considered an under the radar player at 3 stars when Crean recruited him. Vic ended up playing in 32 games his freshman year, averaging almost 8 pts. in 15-18 min. per game.

....I honestly think some on here may be overlooking the potential positive impact these 3 incoming freshmen may have on this team. jmo

Coach Cignetti is proof positive that,... the way you coach, your knowledge of the entire game and how you get buy in from coaches and players is the absolute pinnacle to success! Yes, we had to spend money, but not anywhere close to the degree that most think. Those results were all Coach Cignetti. On the flip side, it reminded me of how much money Coach Woodson spent on IU's roster, his last year. It was reported to be top 5 at 5-6 mil. He had to spend more money to keep MgBako and Reneau from leaving and pay bigger money just to convince Omar Ball to come to IU. That roster under performed and totally exposed Woodson's lack of coaching in all fases. He had to spend big money and it still didn't help.

Texas Tech is probably sweatin'...
