....I know those were Rancik's highlights, but he just looks so comfortable, agressive with good court awareness. He just looks like he's ready to score and plays confident. -

....we definitely need to land one of these highly coveted, big $$ transfers, then build around. I'm just a little leery and hoping it won't end up like a "Dalton Knecht" type situation again. I know Woodson was a part of that one, but still....... lol -

I think so many of these negative posters seem to forget or choosing not to remember that Dolson knew how difficult it was going to be for Coach DeVries to find assistants and build a team late, last year. Speaking on the Don Fischer radio show in March 2026, Dolson commended head coach Darian DeVries for assembling a team under difficult circumstances, noting it was the "craziest time" to take over a program due to the transfer portal environment. “The transition in basketball, it was probably the craziest time... to ever take over a program the way the portal was, so I really commend Darian that we were able to put the roster together to at least get us through this season.” Dolson followed this by expressing confidence that DeVries would "hit his stride" now that the program has a full year of experience under the new staff. -

^^^this! Did ANYONE even expect or see Dolson and President Whitten putting out all that money to put Coach Cignetti at the top of the NCAA pay scale. There is more money or at least the ability to get whatever is needed to pay for what they feel will help and benefit IU athletics. -

.....look, money IS going to be there at IU, it always has been, especially if it's worthy of investing for improvements..... (IU Football, Coach Cignetti and his staff say hello!) Dolson and Co. are not going to let IU BB get another late start and end up grabbing scraps at the end just to build a roster. JMO,.... but big money will be spent on this roster. It's funny when people on here try to say that we can't afford or won't pay that amount of money for certain players......! We absolutey have to spend money and probably more than we would like to spend, but that is the current state of competeing as a P5 school right now. IU has a plenty of NIL money and deep pockets, especially after Dolson's '25-'26 comments about supporting CDD and building last year's roster to "get by".....because of time. Dolson's current project is getting IU BB back to the top or at least relevent. Bottom line, money will be spent and definitely thrown at players this year to build a dramatically, BIGTEN worthy team. After that, it's up to Coach DeVries and his staff to bare the fruit. jmo -

....maybe,.... but respectfully, I actually disagree. jmo Like someone posted on here a few days ago, if we have to overpay a player to come her, so be it......, as long is it's an investment in a starting, impact player that is BIG TEN ready. Bring em on! -
http://pn.com/nfl/story/_/id/48372927/expected-no-1-fernando-mendoza-puts-show-indiana-pro-day ....what I took from that video was what he said at the very end as he speaks about not the player, but the also the person... He said,...."I can definitely see this guy leading any franchise and if I were the owner, I want this guy without question!"

Artie86 replied to Hovadipo's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
....and with that being said, why wouldn't anyone NOT want to play for Coach Cignetti and IU? That's what goes through my mind with a player like, 4* RB Isaiah Rogers. It's been mentioned that Notre Dame may be the leader now. If more money or a bidding war is part of it, then you know how Coach Cignetti feels about that. https://hoosierstateofmind.com/hoosiers-losing-ground-to-in-state-rival-as-elite-4-star-rb-nears-commitment-decision-01kmxpw22evd -

IU bb has been connected with Bradley sophomore guard ….. It could be this guy…. Jaquan "Bully" Johnson is a standout MVC player known as a "bulldog" (or "Bully") for his physical, downhill style, averaging 16.9 points and 2.5 steals in 2025-26. The 5'11" Milwaukee native, nicknamed for his tough, scrappy play style, entered the NCAA transfer portal in March 2026. -

Coach Curt Cignetti to INDIANA... Forever and Ever, Amen!
Artie86 replied to mamasa's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
..... Cignetti is also big on preserving the culture of his program. He says he won’t budge when transfer prospects make demands. “When I have a guy and they want to be promised this or that, playing time, they’ve told me ‘I’m going to start,’ no, no. I’ve never done that and never would,” Cignetti said. “How could I possibly not lose the locker room if I’m promising guys that they will do this or they will do that? Everything’s earned.” ......it's so comforting knowing that we have a leader in Coach Cignetti who always sticks to his guns without hesitation. When any coach in any sport can get that rare type of respect followed by repeated, positive results,....it's thing of beauty! -
