BtownStrength Posted April 3, 2022 Posted April 3, 2022 Hope Thad does well. Appreciate the time spent at IU, and I hope he has the 3rd most successful program in state (BSU being 2nd, of course). NVFalcons1990 and HoosierHoopster 2 Quote

WayneFleekHoosier Posted April 3, 2022 Posted April 3, 2022 Oof. Not ideal at all. In state recruiting just got a little tougher to say the least. best wishes to him. I liked Butler being below Indiana this season, feels like it’s been a while. IU - Kaulie 1 Quote
Popular Post VO5 Posted April 3, 2022 Popular Post Posted April 3, 2022 Man. This kind of sucks. Matta would have been a home run hire for us but instead he becomes associate AD only to bolt to Butler as HC. Stings tkbbn, thebigweave, WayneFleekHoosier and 5 others 8 Quote

Wonder why he didn’t take the IU job when it was available? Is his health that much better now? thebigweave, VO5, Indiana8585 and 2 others 5 Quote
jk34 Posted April 3, 2022 Posted April 3, 2022 Great news for him and Butler! This will not affect Iu basketball, except for 1 less basketball mind on our staff. Thank you Coach Matta for helping CMW navigate his first year in the college business!! DChoosier, NVFalcons1990 and OliviaPope40 3 Quote

This is huge. If he was/is healthy enough why is he not our coach? The Bulldogs will be very good very fast and will get a lot of kids we wonder why we don’t get or go after. With all the talk about how bad his health was I figured we wouldn’t see him coach another team, or at least not see it for the foreseeable future. He was prepping to be an AD or whatever he was doing at IU, yet literally a year later he becomes a head coach in the Big East. I guess he could’ve had a miraculous recovery in that year, but I dunno. Strange situation to me. Butler’s very fortunate to have him. HoosierAloha, NVFalcons1990, IU - Kaulie and 2 others 5 Quote

hoosierdogg Posted April 3, 2022 Posted April 3, 2022 Barry Collier is 67. Could this be a succession plan for the Butler AD position? Matta in place for a short term to hopefully restore success on the court before hiring a longer term solution. OliviaPope40, RoadRage, Ryno6284 and 3 others 5 1 Quote
coonhounds Posted April 3, 2022 Posted April 3, 2022 Well because iu hired Thad but made Woody head coach because we were told that physically couldn't handle a head coaching job. I see zero chance he isn't wildly successful and far outperforming anything we do during his tenure. It's the iu way now days so just sit back relax and enjoy the show. The debate on btb should be fun over the next few years Sent from my SM-A326U using Tapatalk Capt. Crimson 1 Quote
