If we miss on Burton… I would shift to a younger but proven PG. I personally would like guys with more yrs left over maybe some guys that won’t be around in ‘27-‘28. With expanded tourney on the Horizon… You might be able to get away with a team that’s younger this season and sneak in.

I hate Quinn Buckner a little more tonight

Tonight I decided to hate Quinn Bucker a little more.

I mean yes but at the same time we don’t really know what to speculate. At this time everyone is back until it stated otherwise. Which we both know that’s something that can’t happen.

It’s hard to be so sure about the portal or what we need right now until IU has guys enter the portal. Like I can’t even project a bench lol. Im hoping the guys leaving kinda enter the portal soonish personally. Even though I'm sure players have informed the coaches or vise versa.

This is my thinking as well. Unless you were 100% certain everyone else was coming back next year that wasn’t a Senior… Then no thanks. Honestly this is more telling that we will have some transfers happening.

After listening to podcast and videos on IU’s structure of their team going into next year I think we are going to add probably 5 players from the portal. I think will spend $$$$ on 3 guys with star potential and probably the rest of the portal budget on the other 2 guys. (350-600k each) We need a Big and 2 guards (PG,SG) mostly. So if we can get 3 good top tier players, a solid/average 6th man in the big 10 and upside piece I think we can be in that 7/8 Big 10 spot which should get us a tourney bid.

I have bounced out of the doom and gloom stage. I will say no way he could possibly get someone worse than Reed Bailey this time around. That is a positive. Unfortunately you hate to see players pushed out but unless some guys accept a paycheck I think we have a few exit the program. I’m not going to speculate names but I could see atleast 2-3. Then bring in 5 from the portal. We have to get some kind of direction this time. We have to see a plan.

I think what’s crazy is I think a lot more level headed IU fans and fans who will die on the hill for a coach have turned against DeVries already. Twitter and Facebook tonight is about as bad as the Archie Miller booed in his last game
