I kind of seeing this direction as well. We have little to no momentum right now for the basketball program. I’m guessing Scott will do everything he can to get this team to be at least 5x better than this team. I think Scott is going to make Darian make some uncomfortable cuts (creaming) to personnel and players. I think Scott will get someone to help him coach and probably make him get another recruiter. I think if DeVries can’t do better with the resources and help provided then he probably gets the vote of confidence and a little more resources to try to figure it out.

I can’t imagine DeVries can do any worse than what he did in the portal last year. Reed Bailey…. No shot we get someone 1/2 as bad as him. Like this guy is worse than folding pocket aces in black jack. Tucker…. We will get someone better and more in Big 10 shape. This guys athleticism is woof. Especially at what we think he’s approximately getting paid Conerway… He can be good but he’s also kinda like Myles Rice. You don’t know really what you’ll get. I don’t know if he’s a top 10 big 10 point guard. Lamar… only one thats hard to replace but at the same time If we don’t have 3 15+ ppg scorers leaning so hard on one guy is going to lead us into a loop of this mess. Alexis… A true backup big for a good Big 10 team. I believe he’s improved leaps and bounds but his size truly limits him. I feel like these kinds of players are easier to identify. Enright… A hustle guy. He’s limited but will work his butt off. A true bench guy that’s being thrown in to start. If we had a guy like this team on the bench as our 9/10 man we would be a top 4th of the conference team. As for everyone else on the roster that we got in the portal. If they can’t make the rotation on this team I would be concerned. I’m guessing people will transfer out because this era of basketball some always do but if we have 6-8 open scholarships for the portal I can’t possibly imagine getting players worse than what we got. I just want to see a clear path. I want some kind of foundation, more athleticism, size, multiple shot creators and an elite PG.

He needs to find an assistant who can help coach defense. We are statistically since Jan 1st one of the worst teams defensively. That has got to improve. He needs to make a statement. Sit your son!!!!! If we lose to MSU I say play the guys who will be back. Get them reps. DeVries good luck in the portal. I think I would be willing to ease on him if he has a clear plan. If you get younger guys that are Soph, Juniors and we had some kind of 2 year window with those guys I would be fine. What I don’t want another year of 7/8 seniors with limited minutes for our underclassmen.

Dolson has to know. Why do you hire a GM so quickly? If I’m Dolson I’m telling DeVries he’s firing atleast 1 assistant and getting someone to help him with X’s and O’s

After how this season is trending I wish we would have had 10 underclassmen. I rather lose with a young team then be okay on the bubble with a team who is all seniors. Coaching wise… I’m worried. We find something good and then we stop doing it. Conerway was blowing by people and we stop doing it. When a team makes an adjustment for our offense we tap out. The last 10 minutes of regulation this Big 10 season has been brutal for this team. We lost tonight, could have lost to UCLA /Purdue/Wisconsin, lost to Nebraska. Archie lost games in the first 10 minutes… DeVries is losing it in the last 10 minutes.

I wouldn’t play Tucker again…. But unfortunately his dad is the coach. Truly rather see Sisley and the rest of the guys who are coming back return

I meant the CWS post season (Regionals) in itself. I agree making it to the actual CWS is beyond what would expect… I see no reason we can’t be a consistent 2/3seed in a region. I think winning 38-40 games is a reasonable expectation. Especially with the Big 10 stinking.

I think Mercer is a good recruiter but it might be time for a new voice in the clubhouse. I think he’s had his chances and pitching seems to be getting worse. 102-75 in 8 years (2-5 this season.) I like him as a person but I think he’s not getting us any closer to the CWS
