It’s just such a perfect fit you know the Indiana administration will muck it up. I'm of the opinion that Dusty will take the job so I don't think it will get past Dusty...but if for some reason it does, pending background check, I'm on the Beard train. You cannot go from Option A/B to option F. Beard will win at Indiana. MikeRoberts and schoosier 2

The extension still looming, the buyout, the ties and the comments at the presser. The most intriguing of those comments was when he said he hasn't even talked about the job "besides with family" or something very close to that. So haven't talked about it except with the most important people in his life. I'm at about 90% certain it'll be May and I'm cool with that. That’s exactly who I think it is and if it is, I win the bet over chris007! Lol SlammySammy 1

That said, again working under the smoke screen theory set of assumptions which I don’t personally buy into… this would be super coordinated. Brads team would give Goodman the generic “being a Celtic makes me feel warm and fuzzy” quote and tell him to state Stevens isn’t a candidate. That’s where all the ambiguity is invited. Don’t think there’s anything actually there IMO. Being wrong would be cool though. Just hoping Dolson actually knows what he’s doing this go round. The other piece here, and i know you're not buying the smokescreen stuff, just bringing up hypotheticals, but there was no reason for Brad Stevens to put out a smokescreen. Why would he even do that? Nobody is even talking about Stevens coming to IU except for the IU fan bubble. This isn't even a blip on the Boston media radar. It's not a blip with the Celtics fan accounts on Twitter. It's not a blip on the NBA's media radar. IU media brings it up here and there, but mostly only to squash it. There was no reason for Stevens to put out a smokescreen. Boston media was not asking him about this. HoosierSadaseci, Alford Bailey, Hollywood Mike Miranda and 15 others 15 2 1

That said, I get all the feedback on his personal issues. However, people can change and can rebound. We're not a perfect species. Maybe get the guy some help in his personal life (which he'd have to be willing to do) and make the role specific to his engagement/commitment to whatever the agreed to criteria is. I mean, we don't want someone who prays too much. We don't want someone who doesn't pray enough....we're a pretty selective bunch. Hate to tell you, but Brad Stevens spoke at length about his faith at my church. Should he no longer a candidate? Many say Woodson is complete lush and I have first hand stories about that part of his life....he just hasn't been caught. I can't defend Beard's domestic abuse, but know that most abusers were abused themselves and need help. I don't think anybody doesn't want Drew because he's religious. People are saying he won't come here because IU isn't. They're saying the Drew's are the ones who don't see the fit. And people have been complaining about Woodson's vino consumption for a while now lol OGIUAndy and darB s'tI 2

Other angle is that he said nothing for months last time as hype around him continued to build, only for him to come out very late in the game and announce he isn’t interested in the job; he received quite a bit of flack for his handling of the situation. getting out early and squashing it removes himself from that HoosierHoopster, mookied39, BGleas and 2 others 5
