Can't blame him. It was not a pretty game. Burton had a rough shooting night...1-11. He did appear to jam his finger early on and therefore it was wrapped... so maybe that impacted his shooting. I've watched the last two games and early on Lindsay has been very impressive. Manhertz is getting a lot of run...definitely needs to work on his free throws though.

For as impressive as we looked against UNC we are looking equally unimpressive against WKU.

Apparently they benched Underwood for their true freshman qb. After the last several games, I think our defense is now ahead of our offense. Offense needs to start to click. Lets go!

Dinich strikes again. In her CFP playoff article this morning, she ranks IU No. 7, behind Alabama and Texas, citing our Strength of Schedule (SOS) and Alabama’s supposedly better wins. But even a quick two-minute review exposes the flaws in her argument. Notre Dame and Miami, both ranked ahead of IU in her bracket, have weaker SOS ratings than we do. Dinich’s analysis increasingly looks like SEC bias. Her justification for ranking Alabama No. 6, ahead of IU, is equally questionable. She points to Alabama’s wins over Kentucky and Mississippi State while ignoring that ESPN’s Football Power Index (FPI) ranks Nebraska and Northwestern in the top 20, whereas Kentucky and Mississippi State fall in the 21–30 range. That context seriously undermines her argument. Even more telling, IU ranks No. 2 nationally in Strength of Record (SOR), behind only Georgia. For those unfamiliar with SOR, it measures how impressive a team’s win-loss record is relative to its schedule. It’s a significant data point that Dinich’s analysis seems to overlook entirely.

In what world does windy conditions favor Nebraska? Do they not realize we have arguably the top 1, 2 RB back combo in the country and bar none, the best run defense/defensive line in the country. Windy conditions, would significantly favor us.

Yup. Sometimes you just tip your hat to the opponent. Rutgers actually has a solid offense...and the throws were perfectly placed. They were borderline indefensible.

My biggest concern is Colandrea. He actually worries me more than someone like Sayin because of his mobility. Some of these mobile QBs I.e., chiles seem to have incredible escape like capabilities. I don’t know if it’s happens with other teams, but it always seems to happen to us. I think we win, but I’d feel better about the game if Raiola was still qb…solely because of mobility.

They are a top 20 team by pretty much all metrics. Granted, they haven’t played anyone but in my opinion - especially since USC and Washington don’t look as good as originally expected- this will be our 2nd toughest game behind OSU. No doubt Coach Cig will have the guys ready.

Strange. He was to be a big time addition in the portal. I really hope he gets out there but this is starting to become concerning.

Modern medicine is great. The fact that Rutgers is a possibility (although I doubt we risk it), Nebraska seems certainly doable. Very good news all around though.

6 weeks is OSU. Regardless, good news is he and Turbo appear not to have season ending injuries. We need to hold serve and hope our 4th Rb steps up behind Bebee until Martin and Turbo come back (I.e., Martin last year).

Out of curiosity, have we heard anything more on the timeline of Martin returning other than “mid-season?”

Yes. The emergency stay will likely get denied (as it’s the same Judge that ruled in favor?) allowing Daley, Wyatt and others to remain eligible. Then the ncaa will likely take it to the appellate courts later down the road (how long that is, I’m not sure).

This reads as though you think Harris doesn’t want to practice or work at getting better. What has been reported is Harris has been hurt. It was noted he was out with a lower body injury in fall camp and we all saw he got injured in the first quarter of the north Texas game. Frustrating? Yes. But I’m sure he wants to be out there. He’s day to day. Hopefully he’s back soon.
