  1. I think his commitment is imminent.
  2. I wouldn't expect that to happen. He's a Michigan man now.
  3. I understand. I’ve always appreciated multi-year players. But last year, was there anyone truly worth investing in long-term? We needed a reset. Wilkerson stands out, but he was out of eligibility.
  4. Carr is good. Lets continue to have him do the evaluations
  5. Often, schools seek a commitment before a player leaves campus, which gives an advantage to the programs scheduled earlier in the visit process. Mgbako’s recruitment is a strong example—he had a visit to Louisville planned after ours but canceled it after committing. Similarly, Ware had SEC visits lined up but chose not to take them following his official visit with us. However, If Burton makes it to Bloomington without committing to CKS then that would probably be a good sign for Devries.
  6. Sampson has coached a ton of great guards. From Hollis Price, to Eric Gordon and LJ Cryer. Hell, he coached Earl Calloway to a really good year in our 06-07 season. He can point to a number of successes.
  7. Hope we get Burton but there are also other schools involved too.
  8. The irony of it all, is we had our own Brad Stevens.
  9. I understand. Year 2 is going to be pivotal for DeVries.
  10. I knew people would start saying this. We have no earthly idea if DeVries hired the wrong guy. Let’s circle back to this after 5 years. If there was ever a time for McCollum to make noise it would be now. His two best players in Stirtz and Banks (who have been in his system a long time) are both gone after this year
  11. Whoaaa, let’s get a participation trophy for beating the eventual national champion lmao. That’s even more of an indictment that we couldn’t make the tournament and lost 16 games. Keep digging
  12. I was about to say, the OG argument is pretty weak at best. We had already lost a half dozen games including to IPFW and were below .500 in conference when he got hurt. All by mid January.
  13. What are you talking about? He had damn near a decade here lol! Nobody ran him off.
  14. Crean was fired because it was time to move on. Yes..he had the # 1 recruit at UGA - a generational talent - and still was abysmal at UGA. Yes, He had 2 top 4 draft picks at Indiana…and didn’t know how to beat a zone. All things considered, Im taking CDD all day over CTC…and I still don’t know if CDD is going to be a great coach but I do know what CTC is, and that’s not very good. He had plenty of time here.
  15. What are you talking about? That quite literally happened. Why aren’t schools lining up to have Crean as their next coach? Let me guess, you’ll say it’s because he’s doesn’t want to coach. lol, keep dreaming.
  16. Lol. Even if you ignore Crean’s abysmal record at UGA with a generational talent in Ant Man (btw Mike White, has won a lot more at UGA than Crean, which isn’t saying much) I’ll repeat…He still had burned a lot of bridges, especially in-state, indicative of him handing out scholarships like candy. The program also had multiple embarrassing moments including anumber of arrests under his watch, and another incident where one player quite literally ran over another with a car…moving on from him was the right move. It was time to move on. He had 9 years.
  17. Letting Crean go was absolutely the right move. He had burned a lot of bridges, especially in-state, indicative of him handing out scholarships like candy. The program also had multiple embarrassing moments including a number of arrests under his watch, and another incident where one player quite literally ran over another with a car. Even if you ignore that, he was given another High Major coaching job at UGA post IU. Crean’s record at Georgia was brutal. His final season before being fired, he finished 6–26 overall and 1–17 in the SEC in 2021–22. Overall he went an atrocious 15–57 in SEC play (.208). That’s hard to explain when he had NBA talent like Nic Claxton and a potential generational player in Anthony Edwards. Moving on from Crean was the right call. Where IU really missed was the hires after. Archie looked like a great up-and-coming coach at the time, but it just didn’t work. The Woodson hire, though, was a mistake from the jump. Now we’ve got DeVries. He’s acknowledged some deficiencies the past couple weeks, which is encouraging. Hopefully he learns and adjusts. I do think the freshman class looks like a solid foundation—high-major, multi-year type players.
  18. Carr is a great addition.
  19. We're going to have to cut bait with these players to form a new starting 5 (which I agree) as we have a 3 freshman class coming in. The freshman from all accounts are high major prospects, the players on our current team, frankly, are not.
  20. Size, athleticism, leadership and the desire to win is all needed.
  21. I hope not…but you were pretty spot on in the portal this off season. Simply put, we just didn’t have the talent or depth to compete.
  22. NW was so much more physical than us. Even the announcers noted it on TV. Pretty sad.
  23. My last comment because this could go on all night. One school. A school at that time who cared much more about their football program. Certainly, Duke, UNC, Louisville, UK and all the other basketball blue bloods wouldn’t. We did, and we’ve paid for it for 20 years. Again, I said 99% of schools would never self report and therefore you or I, never hear of this and we are winning championships. That is a fact. This is phone calls. Flipping phone calls. Not fake classes, not hookers, not illegally paying players, but phone calls. I and a lot of others see things differently, and it continues to get clearer as the years go by and we hear of all the other problems - including Blue Bloods - and issues they were protecting at this time. But phone calls. Sorry, I’m winning championships.
