  1. This thread is pointless 18 games in. I do think DeVries can turn it around…with that said, talent evaluation HAS to be better. As noted in the other thread, whichever coach thought Bailey could win games for us, frankly should never recruit for us again.
  2. This is true. I would just ask that DeVries not allow the coach who scouted Bailey to ever recruit for us again….because there’s no bigger miss we’ve seen in at least a decade.
  3. Start playing at the 1:15 mark. Says exactly what a lot of people said and what I said directly above
  4. Absolutely not. Bailey is nowhere near a big ten caliber player. And again, I don’t blame Bailey, I blame whoever recruited him here thinking he could win us games. Just a terrible evaluation across the board.
  5. Whoever looked at Reed Bailey and thought he could win games for us at Indiana needs to never recruit for us again. I’m serious…and I don’t blame Bailey for this, but what an abysmal evaluation
  6. We’re a football school. After Monday night, the transition will have fully been made
  7. Man we suck. Bailey, bar none has to be the worst big we’ve had in at least a decade
  8. Wilkerson with a dumb foul. Between he and Devries, seems like one of our top players is always in foul trouble
  9. Not for this year’s game but looking forward to next year.
  10. Regarding next year, we more than likely will need another transfer portal haul, partly because we're old and partly because it appears the latter half of our bench is unplayable at this level. IMO, Dorn and Sisley are the two guys we build the team around for next year. I'm not saying they will be our 1 and 2 for the 2027 season, but that they are 2 players that we should strive to retain from this year's team....after all, they are in this year's 8 man rotation.
  11. I’m not ready to write DeVries off in the first 17 games of his tenure. I do think he can turn this program around, however, there were some glaring issues this Staff didn’t address that frankly should’ve been addressed in the portal. It’s simple. We can’t live rebound the ball. You’re not winning at a consistent level in any conference, let alone the BIG Ten if you don’t have a frontcourt presence. It’s all Amazing and yet concerning that this Staff thought Reed Bailey was an adequate option down low in the Big Ten. Wait till we play Michigan or Purdue. We’ll get eaten alive on the Boards. IMO, To stand any chance in keeping those game close, we have to be hitting at a greater than 50% clip beyond the arc, maybe even 60%. We also have 5 scholarship players that don’t contribute, either because they’re unplayable or hurt. Sure would have been nice to have gotten a rim protector/ rebounder that could’ve have contributed in lieu of one these guys sitting on the bench. Lastly, thank God for Coach Cignetti and IUFB.
  12. As has been said before…we are not a balanced team. Exact opposite of last year. We simply have no bigs. Alexis and Bailey might be the worst front court in the conferenxe
  13. It’s hard not feel like this. It’s rinse and repeat every year. It would take an insurmountable effort for us to win this game.
  14. Bailey is the definition of a player who is good at the mid major level but is way in over his head at the high major level. Just doesn’t have any business being a big in this conference.
  15. Yup, further the article ends by saying "it's a stretch." Cig said in his video earlier this year that he is "retiring as a Hoosier." That's about as definitive as one can get about their coaching future.
  16. It's standard to have 5 scholarship backs at this level. It's a position that gets beat up regularly...See Beebe
  17. Don’t we have multiple people visiting this weekend? I know Baxter is one of them.
  18. Good news. I wonder if there is any update on the Miami side. Seems like they had several defensive players hurt/banged up during the Ole Miss game.
  19. Line down to -3. I don’t get it, as Oregon literally lost their best RB and Whittington is game time decision. Despite this and virtual home game for us, the line is trending towards Oregon. Honestly, this worries me a bit. Maybe thinking too much.
  20. Let me preface by saying, I would be happy with Hoover. I think he would be a good addition. My only concern/s with Hoover is his height. Seems like Cig (as do I), prefers the 6'3"+ qbs in the Big Ten, (see Rourke and Mendoza). Hoover is not that. Admittedly, I didn't watch a ton of his games, but in the two games I watched TCU, he didn't look off his primary WR (never went through progressions). Hopefully, that was just an anomaly, but if not, could explain his 13 interceptions.
  21. According to SI.com he's the 101st ranked prospect or WR # 13. This would put him in the mid-rounds. He certainly could go pro but he could come back with a premier NIL package.
