  1. 3 slots by freshman coming in but we won’t have 6 slots taken up by all 6 players on this years’ team of which some have brought little to no production and that’s a good thing. There’s going to be changes. We’re going to need another major portal haul.
  2. I still laugh at the fact that Mike Davis’ last year (forced him to resign) we were a top 5 team in conference and a 6 seed. We would be celebrating a season like that now. Shows how far down the rabbit hole we are
  3. Talent evaluation has got to better. There’s no sugar coating it, but If we go into next year with Ristic, Harris, Acimov and Drake in the rotation then we’re in for a long season. Surely DeVries knows this…and for the love of God, get a legit body or two down low. The fact that we have poor Tucker DeVries consistently guarding the opponents best big is damning.
  4. Talent evaluation has to be better this off-season.
  5. I hope Devries has a portal Haul because we are far off from being a legit team. Good teams don’t consistently get blown out on the road against above average teams
  6. I didn’t expect to win these last 2 games…but damn, getting blown out in both of them doesn’t help our tournament chances
  7. The irony of it, is I feel this years team is 1 good big away from being really good. We have 5 scholarships players on this team that provide little to no production. Imagine trading those players for 1 dynamite big.
  8. Dorn seems to be nothing more than a streaky shooter. When he’s on, he’s on..:but when he’s off, he’s just a body out there. He’s not much of a playmaker. Definitely has come back to earth after that 4 game run earlier this season.
  9. Much better matchup against Purdue…but if this game doesn’t tell you the need for size this off season, don’t know what will. DeVries has to get some size in portal.
  10. Newton’s law! When Newton dunked with the and 1 was a classic line from Rafferty.
  11. Illinois has a ton of size. The one saving grace is that they're not the most athletic team either. I agree, though...I don't expect a win...however, if Dorn, Devries and Wilkerson are knocking down 3s at a high clip, anything is possible.
  12. Harris has zero experience playing High Major basketball. We don't know how his game, if at all, will translate to Big Ten basketball/High Major...see Bailey as an example. In this era of college basketball, we don't even know if he will be on the team next year. He likely is not going to be our starting 5. My guess is after spending a year in the Big Ten, Devries is going to go after a strong Big to go against some of the 7' + centers we face in league. Sisley is also averaging about 3 minutes a game of recent. It would take a lot of off season progress for Trent to go from playing 3 minutes a game to being a full time starter in 1 year time. My guess is barring tremendous improvement, he won't be starting either. Rotational Player? Yes.
  13. This team is one good big away from being a Final Four contender imo. Bailey is a back up in this conference...however, we have 5 scholarship players, not named Bailey, on this team that provide no production. Imagine, replacing a couple of those players with a formidable big man. We would be very dangerous.
  14. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Enright is one of our best players. He’s a top 3 player on this squad.
  15. Btw…I’ve been hard on Bailey…he made me eat my words yesterday. He played a great game
  16. Enright has been awesome too. Such a gritty player. Occasionally knocks down the 3 point shot and arguably our best defender
  17. Did anyone see Cronin’s post game press conference? Little man syndrome. Further, Didn’t even give one iota of credit to Indiana.
  18. I thought it was 16 game home winning streak for UCLA. Regardless, impressive W especially after our late collapse. I didn’t think we stood a chance of winning, but we did. Resilience is the word that comes to my mind in describing last nights win.
  19. Agreed. DeVries has seemed to pivot as more of the glue guy. You know he’s probably frustrated not scoring the way he historically scores (he’s the active leading scorer in all division 1), but he’s finding massive ways to contribute that are leading to wins. He deserves credit.
  20. Agreed. This thread is silly and way premature which I and others referenced way at the beginning when it was made. Recent play and recent top 100 commits making it look even more silly. Are there some issues with this team? Sure, but damn, the team, the players are so much more likable and more fun to watch than the Woodson’s teams. Plus, we’re squarely in the tournament, something we haven’t been able to say the last 3 years. We’re only going to get better with DeVries at the helm.
  21. Dorn over Conerway has made a significant difference these last 2 games.
  22. DeVries has never gotten a technical in his career. That’s concerning
  23. A season for The Ages. I will never forget this season and Team!
  24. Agreed. I noted earlier, maybe a month ago the same very thing. I get the Indiana Elite connection, but we can find other people imo better than Adams with connections.
