We had zero chance of winning this game...as I predicted in the score prediction thread. I haven't watched 1 second. Not worth the frustration. Maybe Ryan Carr will make a difference...maybe not...I'd like to think he will. I actually think CDD can coach...the one major concern I have is how on God's Green Earth did he think Bailey and Alexis were the only Big Men we needed. Those two are back-ups in this league...frankly Bailey, isn't even a player in this league. It seemed we all knew it but CDD. I remember all of us expressing our size concern. I was at the K-State game, court level and am 6'4". Even though we won that game, I knew we were in trouble because It seemed like I was standing eye level with most of our team, which isn't good for Big Ten.

I would take Bruce...but that ship has sailed. CDD is our coach and frankly we should all get behind him. We don't know if he's going to work out, but I think he has a better chance of working out than not.

2026-27 Roster/Portal/how to fix the roster?
Hoosier987 replied to Asha’man's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
It’s still staggering that Bailey got a a million plus. Further proves that he was brought in to be a high major contributor. Again, it goes without saying that whoever evaluated him (I think Adams) needs to never evaluate for us again. I truly believe we were 1 good big man away from having a borderline top 25 team. Incredible miss. -

My opinion, is if there's anybody to keep from this year's team, it's those 3...however, they should not be counted on as major contributors. If they are, then I think we're in for another long season. We know what Dorn and Miles are. They're both upper classmen plus I don't think a light switch is going to turn on in the off season and they all of a sudden become high end Big Ten players. I think they've reached their peak in terms of development. Outside of a 4 game run, Dorn has provided very little, he quite literally disappears on the court, and Miles seems to be a person that can offer some energy, but that's about it. They should be back end rotation players that come in and play 8-10 min a game to spell the major contributors. Sisley is still up in the air. I think he can be good, but the lack of playing time (and in some cases zero minutes) is confusing. -
Yeah. Adams should not be evaluating or scouting for us. My opinion, he's our weakest link on The Staff.

I mean…I don’t think it would be difficult to find a high major caliber big. Bailey is not. A big problem is, whoever evaluated and recruited Bailey thought he was and it’s absolutely hurt us this year. I know this, I guarantee you we learned from this year and will get a high major caliber BIG conference low post player or multiple for next season…just please don’t have the coach who evaluated/scouted Bailey evaluate and scout our BIGs for next season. Please don’t…

Yeah. I don’t think it’s an effort issue. They were clearly trying today. They just don’t have the size, strength and skill to go against the likes of MSU. For this team to hang with teams like MSU, Illinois and Michigan they have to be hitting at a greater than 40% clip from 3.

I think DeVries is our best coach since Kelvin. With Ryan Carr and a year with the staff, he’s been able to build relationships and target players he wants. See our high school recruits. Those are high major players. I suspect we’re going have a better portal season.

I think DD tried to stitch this team together quickly. It didn’t work. With more time recruiting and a full staff, I expect this portal season to be much better. I don’t think this team lost today because they weren’t trying, we just don’t have high major players outside Lamar and Tucker…it’s a mid major team
-
They had a bunch of players retuning. We don’t. Frankly, we need every second of a head start to begin the transfer portal season…and before anyone says we have returning players…if anyone thinks Jason Drake, Ristic, Amicov, Miles are high major contributors in the Big Ten, then I assure you, we will be right back where we are yet again next year….Probably worse if they are rotation players. I would say Sisley maybe, but at this point, Im not sure he’s even in the future based on the fact he plays no minutes now…Frankly, I wouldn’t be opposed to start anew again next year. The frustrating thing is, we all knew what we were missing (length and athleticism) and CDD didn’t address it as last off season continued
-
The disappointing and alarming thing about this season was that it was obvious we needed length for rim protection and rebounding g but yet Devries decided to continue to get small players like Jason Drake who committed late and appears that he won’t see 1 min of game action this year.

We have definite clout. Scott is very well respected AD

While I admire Wilkerson, we are nowhere near a top 25 team let alone a top 10 team. We can’t rebound, we can’t create, we are not athletic, we’re small, we have multiple scholarship players that are essentially fillers and provide nothing…. Top 10 programs might have one of these problems, not all of them, like we do. We’re a seriously flawed team.
