Lol at the Brad Stevens train, was never going to happen. Now that we’re finally past that (again), really interested to see who the real possibles are, if that’s possible.

I don’t think we can pull you know who from UM, but I hope every effort possible is made, he is exactly who IU needs to actually get back, imo.

After him, don’t know. If Creighton can’t retain I’d look hard there

I think the message from Stevens is pretty clear, he has no interest in this job even though IU seemed ready to pay him a small fortune. I’m actually glad somebody finally contacted him and got a quote from him, I am disappointed but there are so many other great candidates and who knows, the person we get might just be the best choice after all?

….my guess is a couple things.

1. Real smoke screen 

2. Chris, AP, Jerry are all trying to find out what is really happening and post some sort of news later on. (Crickets right now)

3. They have been told by their sources to “shut up” and say nothing more because things were getting out too much, too soon.

4. If 3 is true, they may be telling them to play the smokescreen card too so it doesn’t get out of hand. (Crickets right now)

5. Chris, Jerry and AP were all fed smokescreens early on to think it’s Brad and really someone else.

So I have a little experience in these high value contracts at UNC  and Duke. I wish I could be definitive one way or the other. I can say that what has been revealed right now is not enough to say Stevens is not coming. These types of contracts and meetings have their highs and lows. Sometimes these things are purposefully delayed because the candidate needs more time to make sure their current job situation is left in a good place. Sometimes it’s a no but candidates are apprehensive to give a definitive no because of the backlash they might receive. At this point I’m eh whatever happens, happens.
a friend of mine who helped with the Soto contract told me that after a couple of months of courting him it really boiled down to a half hour. On that day they were down and out and depressed because they thought they were out.
My best advice…. Don’t take yourselves so seriously. Whatever happens, happens. Don’t understand people who try to belittle others for having hope though. That’s a certain type of misery I hope we all don’t have or grow out of one day.  Go Hoosiers. We’re players now. We’ll be fine this time if Dolson has complete control.

4. Dusty May

5. Greg McDermott

6. Shaka Smart

8. Ben McCollum

I may have missed someone I like but this is a good list for me and I don't think it would make it past 3 without a done deal and if it did, it wouldn't make it past 4.
