I re-watched the Illinois game and forgot just how dominant the DL was that night…aided sometimes by secondary coverage but mostly doing it on their own. Wyatt, Daley, Landino and Tucker were menacing. And they’re all back!! The DL depth is insane. Being able to keep them fresh and attacking, I don’t see how we don’t lead the conference in sacks/TFLs. After decades of being crushed in the trenches by most P4 teams this has been a refreshing change. Thank you Cig, Bostad, Haines and Kuntz.

Being good at football did wonders for Florida and Clemson’s rankings as public schools over time. We’ll hopefully see the same. More applications, more selectiveness, more money to spend on campus…. more scholarships to award to elite in and out of state students and higher caliber graduates which leads to more endowment etc etc. A great cycle to find yourself in.

I don’t care about optics. We’re the king of the mountain and stacked again this year. An upper-echelon P4 opponent would be fun for the fans. I don’t mind announcing something later with a team that looks to be strong. Hosting Wake Forest or Kansas satisfies the stupid P4 thing but does nothing for us. Hell, ODU received votes last year in the final AP poll. Screw ND anyway, the top 12 CFP concession they have is ridiculous.
