  1. 1. 11+ conference wins 2. At worst an 8 seed…even though the talent is there to be a 6. 3. Win your first game and don’t get blown out in R2
  2. Their AD just stepped down too I think. Gard’s a good coach…their roster far outperformed the NIL for it last year. No sympathy from me though. Poverty program. Fickell being a train wreck there has been so satisfying.
  3. Samet 28 Sherrell 30 Sisley 15 another backup big: 10 Harris 18 Mustaf 28 Burton 33 Lindsay 30 Moody 8 Book it!!
  4. I’d be surprised if Yigi and Sherrell aren’t playing nearly 60 minutes between them. Ten for Sisley as he continues to develop. Would leave another 10-12 in the front court…but it’s still a massively important spot in the B1G in case of injuries, foul issues, etc. I want a big body and a wing who can shoot
  5. He left a great job to come to IU. If they maintain some level of consistent success I think he gets to be here as long as he wants.
  6. Ryan Carr is the frickin man. Not the only variable that’s changed this off-season but a big one. What a great approach to this rush free agency. Identify who is worth waiting for, but still have backups ready. Just as importantly: scout thoroughly, assign value, and determine who isn’t worth waiting for. Pivot quickly when opportunity presents itself
  7. There’s your starting 2.
  8. Would be ecstatic with Hall or Sykes. Scorers who shoot well from deep on high volume. Compete for the 2 spot
  9. Sherrell* lets edit the thread title
  10. Go get a knockdown shooter to compete for the starting 2 spot. Someone who’s done it already in college, at any level.
  11. Harris is in no way penciled into the starting 2 spot. Not in the coaching staff’s eyes and probably not even in his own. He’ll be competing for minutes but has a chance to win the role, but I’d guess he’s coming off the bench unless he forces his way in
  12. Sisley playing 12-15 high energy, productive, fast minutes at the 4 will be helpful for matchups and pace. Work on his 3. Keep cutting hard. Seems like he already rebounds fairly well
  13. Yeah, I was saying this yesterday. No room for all 3. I like Rancik a lot, but Sherrell fits better in this conference. Sisley will have minutes there for him at the 4, hope he makes a jump this offseason
  14. Having Rancik as a really solid back-up plan to Sherrell feels good. Id imagine Rancik cancels his visit if the latter commits to us. Guess we’ll see
  15. Granted I’ve watched 90 seconds of highlights…but Rancik looks skilled enough to play some 3. Got a great handle for his size and skilled passer. All of Yigi, Sherrell, and Rancik could get 30 minutes. Gut tells me it’s an either/or with Sherrell/Rancik though.
  16. If he’s getting that hyped about every and-1 in a half empty SMU gym, wait til he does it at Assembly Hall
  17. IF we get Sherrell, I’ll happily be eating crow on this take. I also thought it was better to withhold sizable NIL increases unless we proved we had the right coach. Oof We’re building a roster that has the juice
  18. Definitely not what’s happening. Sherrell is still priority 1. He wants to play more 4
  19. I want Sherrell even more now. Back of napkin math. 28-30mpg for Samet at the 5 10-12 mpg of Sherrell at the 5, 20 at 4 Don’t think there’s room for the Colorado guy IF we get Sherrell. Sisley plays some 4 but bring another guy in who’s okay competing for minutes
  20. I’ll never understand why Bailey took zero threes with us. Looks were there. Had a good stroke and shot it decently from there on low volume at Davidson. I want Rancik to be 6’11, he’s listed as either that or 6’9 depending on source
  21. Looks like he’s going to the highest bidder, which I hope will still be us. Gonna make us sweat it out though. Get some other bigs on campus for visits
