  2. Gotta get him just for the name. Get him an NIL deal with a Buffalouies. "Yaak Yaak Sauce" sounds like a good wing sauce name.

  4. Keita would be the absolute dream scenario. That’s it right there. Absurdly talented but really young, he may have just turned 18. and not ready to really help much. But a 10 min type of niche role would make a ton of sense for everyone concerned. 18 months of physical/skill development and he could be pretty blinding as a sophomore.

  5. Full stat line in last night's win. 27p on 6-11 FG, 2-5 on 3s; 13-13 FT. 1r, 1a, 2s, 0b, 3t

  7. I don't think those two are really in competition. I'm a fan of Sisley, but he couldn't even beat out Jasai Miles for wing minutes at the end of the season. He's a 4. There are plenty of minutes available at the 4 though, as Sherrell should be the primary "backup" at 5. Trent could feasibly get 20 mpg there if he's improved.

  8. He made as many 3's as Wilkerson last yr on 25 fewer shots according to ESPN. He's worth a chance in my opinion.

  9. Today’s Mullins’ 20th birthday. I’m sure this came up around here during his recruitment but I’d forgotten that he’s notably old for his class. Imagine it’s a good decision both developmentally and from a depth of talent pool perspective to stay another year but there’s also some risk given how the League looks at prospects once they turn 21.

  11. A freshman 6'7" 225lb guard that averaged 10 and 6 in 22 minutes being looked at to fill a back half of the bench role seems odd?

  12. Let the NFL buyer beware when it comes to selecting Simpson. This comment should be a huge red flag.

  15. If just one frosh plays rotation mins and you add a backup big you’re at a 9 man rotation already. There isn’t really room for anyone else of note. I’m not sure what people are expecting.

  16. He’ll be a media darling. If he ups his game it’ll pay off. Getting real time in the Big leagues is no easy task. He was likely gonna G League his way into playing time. Might as well mature in college hoops.

  19. I don't get your point. Are you saying he shouldn't be interested because he would be a deep off the bench guy? Are you saying IU should only be interested in spot up shooters to finish off the roster? He is a physically imposing 6'7" 225# wing that shot over 50% from the field. IU doesn't have a single guy that can play the 3 with any experience and the only listed SF, Karvala, is 45 lbs lighter. Hell, his per40min rebounding # is better than Yigi and Sherrell's. IU would be lucky to have that productive of a guy coming off the bench. Not sure how you don't see a need for a physical wing on a team that doesn't have one that plays in the B1G.

  21. Parker had some huge rebounding games. In his last 15 games .. he avged 14p 9r I'm not sure why this kids listed as a guard anywhere. He isn't. He's a 4. I would like this add a lot.. (just looking at numbers and a short video).. we need another 4 more than a center. Plus he has 3 years.. Grab Parker-- a Hatton like center, and PG that's probably Hattons type level... and thats a solid roster.

I would imagine de-prioritizing the sport because it doesn’t bring in much revenue, coupled with not wanting to pay her buyout.

  23. I'm guilty of this myself by overreacting to "been in contact" tweets. Doesn't always automatically mean that we initiated the contact. Agents can contact us and then honestly say there was contact with IU and it makes their client look more appealing.

  24. Unless he’s growing 2-3 inches this summer I don’t see the appeal. 6’7 non 3 point shooter (funny his first highlight is a 3, made 4 of 25 all year) seems like an odd interest.

  26. Honestly I'm fine with just adding another true 5. Someone overlooked that is in that 6'11-7'2 range that you think can play in a bind now (take up space) but also believe can be developed for future. Can't teach size. Not sure if that individual is out there or not.

  27. I felt a bit masochistic today and decided to listen to Dakich. I was actually encouraged to hear that he spoke with Ryan Carr at a Pacers game, and that Carr reportedly “really likes” the freshmen coming in. So, kudos to DD and staff for not screwing the pooch, it has Carr's seal of approval.

  28. I’d be looking for specialists at this point. Guys that can to one thing great. The lock down defender, the 3 point sharpshooter, and the rim protector.

  31. Video pertains to the thread, but my point does not. I’ve had a decent sixth sense about QBs coming out in the past. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but Simpson doesn’t have a prayer imo. On the field he doesn’t impress me in the first place, but I’ve been seeing a lot of interviews with him recently and man he just doesn’t seem to be playing with a full deck upstairs.

  33. I have a real hard time believing that DeVries, Carr, the coaching staff and the donors would bring us to this point and then not finish the job. That would be irresponsible and inexcusable, IMO.

  34. I'll of course take a preseason ranking if we get it. It certainly doesn't hurt! But, to get the lasting narrative change we want, we need to string together several good seasons with appearances in the second week of the tourney. Remind the CBB world we exist. For me, this strong portal means the aforementioned good season is possible for '26-27. That's what I care about most. Good stuff, onwards and upwards!

  35. We are not going to be in NC conversations. On an expedited timeline—like the one May took—maybe next year. We wasted last year and started over this year. If you want to be optimistic think of this as UMay Yr 1. Contend for a B1G title, win the BTT, and make the S16 and everyone will be over the moon.

  41. IU was always bringing in a GM regardless of how the coach did in the first year. That was reported before the season even started that was a position they were looking to fill down the road
    1 point
  42. You really think so? Or did he do such a bad job with roster construction last season that we had to bring in a GM to do that part of the job for him? Because that's the optics here.

  43. We’ll be preseason top 25. Rothstein updated his rankings this morning and has us at #15. DeVries and Staff have done a fantastic job. Also, it shouldn’t go unnoticed but each of our transfer players have multi years left of eligibility (assuming Burton gets a medical waiver).
