  1. He and Yann Kamagate have both come out of nowhere to dominate this summer.
  2. Do we know if Clemens Sokolof has made it to campus yet and able to participate in these early practices.
  3. Karvala looks bummed out.
  4. I literally yelled NOOOO!!! at the top of my lungs when I saw this post. Thank goodness he will be a walkon. As some else said we need a serviceable third big. end. of. story.
  5. Looks like a bidding war between Louisville, Kentucky, St. John's , and Arizona.
  6. Had not heard of him- might be a good fit especially with that shooting ability. Did some more digging and saw another guy who might help-Veljko Ilic from Sam Houston State averaged 11ppg and 6 boards-6'10" 240. Maybe knows Lamar.
  7. Not many options. Looks like Euros who have played professionally at a high level are off the table and 5for5 doesn't apply to kids who graduated this year. The transfer portal is pretty much depleted. Only a couple who interest me for what we need: Emeka Opurum- 7'0" from Auburn who we were involved with last year as a juco. Only problem is he sat out last year with a heart condition. Supposedly has been medically cleared to play and visited N.C. State last weekend. Hamad Mousa-6'8" from Cal Poly a high scoring wing and great shooter. Just not sure about the level of competition but Michigan and Kentucky have been involved.
  8. So when does this rule take effect? Will it be in place for the 2026/27 season?
  9. Well I guess that pulls the plug on my scenario where we sign an international big who withdraws from the draft. Wonder if Clemens Sokolof will be affected by this ruling? Wonder if Will Wade will be able to field a team? Guess we have to hope the 5 for 5 rule is retroactive and we can talk big Sam into playing another year.
  10. Darius Wabbington to Lewis Uvwo for the slam!
  11. I'm probably crazy but wouldn't a frontcourt of Lewis Uvwo and Darius Wabbington work incredibly well. Their skillsets complement each other perfectly. With Uvwo running the floor, rebounding and protecting the rim, blocking every thing in sight and Wabbington handling, dishing dimes and shooting at 6'11". Damn a man can dream. Wabbinton with the alley oop and Uvwo throws it down.
  12. You could certainly be right. But the way I look at it between the 4 and 5 spots you have 80 minutes of game time. Each guy could get at least 25 minutes and you rotate them to keep them fresh and out of foul trouble. Plus you get national exposure and play great competition in the Big Ten. And you sell them on Ryan Carr's NBA connections. May not work but sure hope so.
  13. I like that situation as well. I am in the minority here but still feel like we pickup another player who can contribute at the 4/5 to solve our depth problem. There are several international guys who declared for the draft and may choose to withdraw if they are told they won't go high enough or need another year of seasoning. I can imagine a scenario where Dolson, Carr, and Coach are beating the bushes rounding up cash for one more impact player. Hope we do not hear anything until after May 27th the day when players can withdraw and maintain college eligibility. Remember the names Lazar Gacic and Pavle Backo they are both clients of Misko Raznatovic who I think might owe us a favor for taking on Clemens Sokolof as our developmental big. A three way rotation with one of those guys and Sherrell and Yigitoglu would solve our injury/foul issues.
  14. Been following the transfer portal since it opened and was writing down names of potential post players. Came up with probably 25 guys and now down to 1- Emeka Opurum is still on Mike Schuman's latest list of guys we have contacted. Pro's-7'0", athletic, rim runner, rebounder and shotblocker Cons-Not much of an offensive threat, set out last year at Auburn due to some sort of heart condition but has been cleared to play Did a deep dive in to the Euro big men available and feel like most are probably a pipe dream due to cost or NBA aspirations or other schools involved. However I did come across one fun fact: our recent addition Clemens Sokolof has the same agent as Serbian 7 footer Lazar Gacic who played for Mega Superbet (the team we played in Puerto Rico last year). Gacic is skinny but skilled and might be able to provide 10-15 minutes per game as a depth piece. Have no idea if we are in contact but thought it interesting that he has the same agent(Misko Raznatovic) as our new guy.
  15. Part of me says WTF this guy only averaged 6 ppg om Maryland Eastern Shore what are we doing. Then I calm down and realize yep this is part of the plan. Sokolov is the developmental big. Monden is the practice player/ 3rd point guard. So the next guy is going to be #11 the rotational big we so desperately need. They had to have learned from last year, right? And now they are rounding up enough money to land one more difference maker.
