Put me in the I don't think Matt is going anywhere camp. I'd guess he coaches another 15 years. He's one of those sort of guys. He's very good I've got to admit. His track record except a couple years (a recruiting philosophy mistake he corrected) has been pretty darn good. I just want to see them not be a title threat. I'm curious how things will go as they fully get into the NIL era. It feels like it's been delayed due to Edey, who was the ultimate crutch -- a 2x NPOY that PU was paying maybe 1/3 of what he was worth. And also this year they really passed the hat to go all-in on their seniors and keep everyone and get Cluff. They're probably spending as much or more than we are on our roster this year. Hopefully next year they actually slow down. They lose their top four scorers and PU's NIL isn't great, and they'll have to figure out how to spend between reloading MBB and trying to fix their FB problems. That said, as long as Matt is there, I expect them to be pretty good. There is no denying he is a very good coach.

The President of my company came to town yesterday for an executive visit. I wore my IU tie He picked up on it instantly and made a big deal in front of everybody. Suddenly a room of about 50 people in Tampa, FL was chanting Ho Ho Ho Hoosiers to brown nose he and I lol. I love our title so much

Shout out to Tucker. I have referred to him as looking like a rec league guy but kudos to his performance against PU. He played with great intensity, there were buckets that he seemingly was as fired up as if we just won the natty, had 10 boards, etc etc. Great effort (aside from the late one and one misses) and game!!

If we win another title they'll have to invent a new word for my brand of annoying. It will be unfathomable levels of annoying.

I suspect Painter will be at Purdue as long as Painter wants to be at Purdue. I think he will want to be there for the rest of his career unless he becomes convinced they can't win a title there because of lacking NIL or some other structural issue... you never know, but hard to imagine him elsewhere.

I'd rather Conerway off the bench than Enright based on the rest of our starters tbh. The ball moves better with Enright IMO and Conerway can add some scoring off the bench.

Worth noting; Manhertz is a highly ranked recruit because he has such a high ceiling. He is also raw, young, and needs to add 15-25 pounds to compete as a P4 rotation player. EIther him or Karvala could be red-shirt candidates, could be back of the bench kids that are transitioned in as the season evolves, or could surprise and be more college ready than expected. Manhertz and Karvala are not likely to be anywhere near as capable of being rotation players next year as the returnees with a similar profile; Sisley, Dorn, and Miles. Now Prince Moody-Alexander? He has much, much better chance to be a college-ready body and skill set right from the get go. And that's important because we will need ready to play guards next year.

I don't get too attached to any of these guys until they sign. Fortunately, it appears the B1G uses pretty good contracts so when they sign it seems to stick. Also, tweeting about an offer doesn't bother me much, a lot of players do it. But I agree it comes off pretty awkward and I don't blame fans for feeling a bit annoyed. Speaking of signing, I don't get why the rules can't change so players can sign their rev share/NIL deals anytime. Why have a signing day this day in age? Sign the damn contract anytime and we can drop all this commit 100%/decommit/commit 1,000%/etc. nonsense. The commitment should be signing the contract. Whatever, Cig & Co. know how to manage all this. I'm glad I don't have to, it looks like a nightmare of a time.

I was wrong. We're done with the portal for now. Nothing happening on visits and classes have started, making enrollment not really doable at this point. Some people think after spring ball there could be a few additions. There is no portal then as we know, but there are probably a few weird grad transfers and that sort of thing available. We'll see.

Looking at Purdue they might be in trouble next year. They lose a lot of contributors. And even if Painter wants to reload in the portal assuming he can his system has always benefitted from guys playing multiple seasons. I’m not saying they will suck. But their window to win a NC might have already closed.

I was there last night... few major takeaways: 1. First real Assembly Hall crowd of the season 2. Conor Enright player of the game. Outstanding defense, don't know how he still had the legs to make that late 3 3. We are still terrible at closing out games. Came very closing to choking that away. Late game execution needs to get way better

Painter is the best Purdue is likely to do as long as he wants to continue coaching. The more delusional Purdue fans may have champagne wishes but their tap water budget is not likely to change any time soon. Even if it did, the pressure to make their football program at least remotely competitive is only going to mount and its going to take a lot more investment to even get to that point. If Painter hasn't figured out that he can't win a title at Purdue yet, then he probably should consider a long vacation somewhere with some nice padded rooms. I'm not sure he could win a title anywhere but it certainly isn't happening at Purdue.

The whole fan argument is garbage. Go take a look at Purdue social media today. This in the middle of one of the best runs in the history of their program. Fans are not the biggest problem, fans are fans. When you are losing it just highlights the biggest losers in a fanbase. So I don't completely dismiss that some guys are turned off by our wackos. But the wackos weren't the problem, the losing was. The problem has always been picking the wrong guys to be in charge.
