He was my favorite player growing up and seems to be a good dude. With that said, if his loyalty is with Woody over IU, then good riddance. Get out and don’t bother coming back for all I care.

 

IUs history is so old and hasn’t andded anything to the post Knight era except bitterness and acrimonious politics. Just disavow it and move on. Sad to say, but there’s nothing more the institution can do in that regard than give a guy like Woodson 4 years and millions. The debt has been paid, imo.

I’ll bet there is a chance he gets terminated if we get blown out in both of the upcoming road games.  The administration might want to avoid the booing, fire Mike Woodson chants etc that would occur at the Maryland home game (and after that we go to PU and Wiscy…LOL). 
 

If we split the two road games, however, he will probably cling on. The wheels HAVE to be turning in Bloomington. We will see.

those are the two realistic choices in order if you ask me. Both would be 100% place holders for the off-season coaching search and one should be in that position by next week if our administration has any sense.

This is beyond sad to watch and everyone, including Woody knows it.

Let Kenya fall on that sword.  I don't want any more legendary players getting tossed on the funeral pyre.

I guess there’s no reason to fire him tonight, with two road games up next…but if you lose both of those, no way you let him walk back into assembly hall to coach against Maryland. My hope would be he steps down or we let him go before that. Would be a sad sad day to see an all-time great have to face the environment that would be waiting for him.

As I said 100 pages ago, and others are saying, the only way out is for him to announce his retirement effective end of season.  Maybe they rally and go on a winning streak.  But the fans will basically have what they want — the certainty that he’s gone and a new coach will be announced by April.  Trying the interim thing just doesn’t work.

The way he kept his starters in it seemed as though the size of his bonus increased as the point spread increased.
