That might be a reasonable plan for any other coach besides Woodson. He managed to ignore and/or remove the helps that Dolson gave him at the start (Fife and Matta) ... and refuses to change his style and approach ... I can see him continuing to be stubborn and ignoring any assistants/assistance provided, because, well, he's Mike Woodson - the smartest man in the room... and we all know the only real issue is "the hump".

Seriously, I don't see that approach ending well for him or us.

Not sure if changes to the staff means much of anything. Woodson would have to be willing to change his whole philosophy and system and I don't see that happening. That would mean he would have to admit what he is doing does not work.

Yes, maybe we could get a former successful head coach to come in and mentor him and a long time assistant to sit with him on the bench........oh wait....we already did this. And how long did that last?

Lets just fire people Woody doesn't listen to anyway, replace them with more people he won't listen to just to please people.

Well, I don't think there is a verbal agreement with any coach. Do I think IU has asked agents if this job opened up would your client be interested? If they say yes then maybe something like what kind of money are they looking for. But I don't think anything has gone further than that. But I don't know any of the for sure. JMO

Dusty May would 100% say yes to the job. Thus, there’s no reason to bring back Woodson for a 4th season. 

And I don’t even want the Dust. But if X number of big-name coaches don’t want the job now, they definitely won’t want it after an even worse season next season. So let’s get Dusty. There’s no possible way he’ll be worse than Woodson. At the very least, he won’t half-a*** the job like a certain somebody.

It's tough when you're a fan and you have an emotional attachment with that team. You hope that the least the administration can do is act in good faith. I have experience with this as a Mets (new owner is awesome though) and (former) big US Soccer fan.  I can live with on field mistakes  but when administration doesn't do the most basic obvious decision and there is no end in sight it's time to protect your mental health and move on.  I quit caring about US Soccer because of nepotism and a system that is so corrupt that there is no way we can develop players that can compete with the best in the world.  I'm still a hardcore  Mets fan because even though we still stink the new owner is making solid decisions that will hopefully make us a great club more consistently.  

IU is at an impasse with me.  I love my time as a student and fun I had watching IU basketball with my friends, but if we're only hanging on to a coach because he knows the right people, then quite honestly how can anyone believe that we'll find success one day?  I think my time is better served letting my dog play in the woods or bribing my Niece and nephew to become Mets fans by funding a trip to NY comic con so they can be the best geeks they want to be.  Good luck with everyone here finding that balance and treat yourself right.
