Per Rabjohns..."Indiana vs. Kansas State is also in the works for 2025-2026"...Marquette and Kansas State is a strong beginning to a non-conference slate. If (big IF) we hire Brad Stevens, it would not be surprising to see the Hoosiers put into a Feast Week event (unless the Marquette game is part of an exempt event and we'd play campus games against a couple of smaller schools with Marquette as the headliner). Kind of odd to have scheduling stuff being done with no coach in place, unless....

Kentucky in there too. Monster of a non-con in the making.

Maybe this is all one big mirage by dolson. On senior night at halftime, dolson and ferguson walk to halfcourt waving a signed lifetime contract for Woodson at 8 million a year. Quinn proceeds to rappel in from the ceiling to " welcome to the jungle" as he pumps his fist in the air at lighting speed.

No doubt Quinn being part of the Pacers TV crew, would be able to get the necessary training for the repel from Boomer!

At some point you're just going to have to come to terms with the fact that Woodson will not be the coach after this year. I know denial can take time to work through. We're to help you, so I'll say that this scenario has a 0% chance of happening.

Only about a month remaining before reality hits. I hope you'll be ok when that happens.

i probably just don't know how contracts work honestly lol

I’m certainly no expert, I think his contract is rare, it seems to really be lopsided in his favor?

Kind of surprised that schedule are being finalized before we get a new coach

Have for a while. @jbeaman9 & I already put together Dolson flying to Miami today. Pfau flying to Miami today, and Someone from Boston flying to Miami today. Why Miami? His representation is located in Miami. LET"S GO

Also, have it on good authority that Dolson was out of the office today. Does that mean anything? No. (Maybe?)

And hopefully Ferguson on a different continent.

I don't think he has ever mentioned it before (and therefore I haven't), but 8bucks was low-key awesome four years ago. I can confirm that we flat-out discussed that Woody was the very likely choice days before the news broke or Woody was even known to be in consideration.

This board has some low-key excellent posters with access that covers damn near every aspect of IU sports. That zero-$$ mod salary comes with some perks!

I forgot to look back at our conversation but that was on 3/23 as well.  Plus, as we all know, Scott wanted a zoom call, but Woody said Mike Woodson doesn't come to you... so unless Scott jumped in a plane that day then it would have been shortly after the Masshole comment on the 19th that they started talking.

Found this Pat Forde article when looking for dates.  I don't remember if from before, but this comment does support the idea that Buckner was pretty forceful in the selection. Indiana hires Mike Woodson: Will he succeed as Hoosiers head coach? - Sports Illustrated

"How’s this for an echo chamber: A former basketball manager under Knight hires a former Knight player, with considerable urging from another former Knight player. One of the first people athletic director Scott Dolson (head manager of the 1988 IU team) thanked Monday was Quinn Bucker (point guard on the undefeated ’76 team). A person familiar with the inner workings at Indiana, who predicted several hours before the news broke that Woodson would get the job, described Buckner as “a bulldozer” in the process.

The strong-willed Buckner has bulldozed his way to a lot of success in life. Perhaps he will bulldoze a path back to greatness for his alma mater. We’ll see."

For the record, I am low-key awesome.  I would add as a signature but I am not that awesome.
