So what happened?

I disagree because this goes against my chosen narrative!

Not to get us off topic....but how crazy is it that some people look down on Dusty and he's now sitting in sole possession of first in the B1G in year one. Watching Wolf last year I would have never believed it if you told me how UM would use him. Basketball genius.

@Chris007 Do we know when they would officially sit down with Brad? All-Star weekend is sort of a natural time but they probably won't be done playing in the buyout market by then.

Schedule makes sense. UM plays Sunday and then not again until Friday, so likely to be a travel day/ day off

I don't get why a midseason firing means that they have their guy? -

That was just a Trilly prediction, meaning he heard they were planning to portal. Doesn't necessarily mean that they will get in the portal before the end of the season -

I mean there is no doubt he wants it and that he would succeed. I trust Dolson and Whitten to do their homework but hopefully that is after the godfather offer for BS and a strong press for May -

Didn't you say he had no chance? Have you heard something that changed your mind? -

I'm aware. As I said, I think this season is a wash. But the team still has talent maybe a change in rotations and play style could see them improve? Who knows! -

I mean all the assistants have spent their life in CBB. I don't think they are world beaters, but I do think they probably understand CBB more and sometimes you just need a reset (See, Diebler, Jake) -

I think Dolson and May have an existing relationship so hopefully in his case its just Scotty D shooting him a "u in?" text lol -

Look, at this point the season is over one way or another. If the admin thinks that it is more advantageous to allow a program legend to finish the season so be it. Personally, I think the potential for two blowouts to your main rival, continued booing and toxicity surrounding the program, probably open cheering for Dusty to replace CMW during the UM game, and booing during senior night make it a better decision to move now. I'd also like to see what a real coach could do with all the talent we have. But like I said, it really doesn't matter when it happens (and it WILL happen). What I really, really need to know is that the admin is smart enough to start back channeling now. A lot of the hot names are going to start taking new deals, I would hope that Dolson is getting his list ready and finding a way to gauge interest. -
I am a big McCollum fan. In all my time watching college basketball, it feels like these guys who scrapped their way through the DII level almost never fail. Usually those DII guys don't stay long enough to win 4(!!!) championships, there were rumors that McC was abrasive and difficult to work with in his personal life which may have contributed to his lack of DI opportunities. I think we could get him, but I would be wary of Iowa here. It's an open secret that Fran's retirement is quickly approaching and Iowa's A.D. has been eyeing B-Mac. He's from Iowa City and took Drake in part to position himself well for that opening. I also think people should be wary of style of play. No doubt they are well-coached, but his teams play SLOW (dead last in country in tempo). There might be an argument that we don't want to be that team but most of us probably don't care if he wins.
