    It actually doesn't make sense because we wasted two spots last year hoping Leal and Goode would get an extra year when they didn't, so this would mean we didn't learn from that mistake. Also, no one seems to realize this, but teams get 15 scholarships now instead of 13.

    It's more like this: If they visit us first, they're just using us to leverage more money from someone else; If they go somewhere else first, we weren't appealing enough to get the first visit and they'll probably commit to that team on their visit.

    We finally get back to back scoring plays only for Hurley to call a timeout and ask for a review. Yawn.

    Can't believe Tulsa took a 5 second call when they had a timeout. College coaches are always over-coaching at the end of games and using timeouts when they don't need to. Weird to not see that happening here.

    I think they were just biding their time and trying to avoid injuries before the real tournament started, as #1 seeds sometimes do in the conference tourneys. But it made Purdue fans feel like they were a legit contender for a couple weeks, adopting the acronym "PGWTWDT" (Purdue's gonna win the whole damn thing) and that was kind of cute.

    Probably explains why they're petitioning for another year. They could have a 25 year old 6th year senior in their starting lineup next year and the Painter fanboys will continue to preach how Purdue does it "the right way."

    I'm convinced Matt Painter has a few buddies on the selection committee. They've gotten terrific draws the last couple years. I recently went back over some old tournament games and came across Purdue-Wisconsin in the Elite 8 in 2000. Wisconsin finished 6th in the Big Ten that year and was an 8 seed. Purdue finished 6th in the Big Ten this year and was a 2 seed.

    Duke's men's and women's teams are playing Elite 8 games back to back today. Dreaming of the day we'd get to see something like that here.
