  1. Wouldn't mind if we got this up to 20 so that when we have our usual 5 minute braindead stretch it won't hurt as much.
  2. They call shooting fouls if a guy is even looking at the basket these days and we couldn't get a shooting foul on that?
  3. Another team above us in the standings, another blowout loss. Par for the course this season.
  4. I'm a lot less concerned about DeVries' demeanor in press conferences and a lot more concerned with what his actual plan is. Cignetti has been successful here because he had an effective plan and put it into action very quickly. DeVries looked like he had to pick between winning now and building for later, and rather than committing to one or the other, tried to do both. Missing the tournament won't be a death knell for him, but it's still going to go down as a wasted year.
  5. Unless you're seeing something I'm not, Lunardi hasn't updated his bracket since Friday.
  6. The idea that Dusty May's family didn't want him coaching at IU because they feared our fanbase is classic Internet fan-fiction at best and hardcore copium at worst.
  7. Saw that Zach Edey needs another ankle surgery. Dude was indestructible for 4 years at Purdue and now that he's in the NBA he can't stay healthy.
  8. Wouldn't surprise me if they have some chemistry issues. They just don't seem to have the cohesiveness of past Purdue teams.
  9. It took Archie 4 months to land his first recruit. Even Mike Woodson, who was too lazy to leave his office, got one within three weeks. DeVries isn't Archie, but I wish the comparison wasn't even necessary.
  10. Adjusted defensive efficiency continues sinking like the Titanic. Dropped another 10 spots today. It's rare to see that big of a change this late in the season.
  11. Is DeVries personable? Is he good at building relationships with recruits? That's going to be key from here. Missing the tournament sucks, but recruits and transfers will be more focused on next season than this one. A coach has to be able to connect with the players he wants. Our last two coaches were horrible at this.
  12. And we go 6 for 20...in the freaking first half. Maybe if we shoot 20 more, we'll finish the game with 12.
  13. Only 4 minutes in and the eyeball test already says they're a lot better than us.
  14. My first thought was we'll probably have to hit at least 10 threes to have a chance. Then I realized Purdue made 12 the other night and still lost. Hard to see us winning this one. If we're like 6 of 20-something from deep it will get ugly.
  15. Florida fans not impressed with Purdue the other night:
  16. Actually saw a Facebook comment the other night calling Izzo "Mr. February." I figure it was either a bot or someone very young.
  17. I'm probably stuck in the past on this one, but I can't get behind this. Look what relying on the portal has done to our program. We have no identity, no leadership and no foundation anymore, and when you don't have those things, you get losses like we had the other night. Honestly don't know what the best approach is for us. Not sure anyone does.
  18. Purdue's seniors have 4 home losses this year. They had 4 home losses in the previous 3 seasons combined.
  19. And Purdue's Big Ten title hopes officially hit 0.0%
  20. I think he probably got hammered after he went home, and saying it was tough "on the verge of a big win" meant he was craving it as the game neared the end but knew he wouldn't get to drink. In any event, glad we're not dealing with this. IU basketball creates enough problems on its own.
  21. But, but, but, he took Dayton to the Elite 8! And he's Sean Miller's brother! And...well, that's kind of it, I guess.
  22. Losing to this terrible team would be on brand for this bunch. Still not convinced better days are ahead.
  23. Because we no longer have any identity as a program, no foundation to build from. The people running it don't even know what kind of team they want. All we have are fantasies of things being like they were in the 1980's.
  24. The idea that football was stealing fans from the basketball games was always amusing to me. People are just fed up with the basketball program. It's that simple.
