I'm afraid of two things right now with the Pacers: 1) They'll start to get healthy, and due to pressure from the league, start winning, sending their pick to the Clippers, or 2) They'll finish in the bottom 4, but the league will rig the lottery to make sure their pick goes to the Clippers.

I'm sure the officials will remember they're in the Call Center and that will change in the second half.

Death, taxes, and missing live action because CBS tried to sneak an extra commercial in.

Not that it makes a huge difference, but our non-con SOS has found its way below 300 as it does seemingly every year. I keep thinking we'll either finally figure out how to schedule or maybe we just happen to schedule a bunch of overachievers in the same season.

I hate it that Sisley has disappeared from the rotation. Why can't we have a freshman from Indiana come in and actually make a splash? Purdue brings in 3 star recruits Loyer and Smith, and they start immediately for a team that gets ranked #1 and wins the Big Ten. We bring in a freshman to a team just trying to make the tournament and he can't even get on the floor. Par for the course with this program, I guess.

Kind of figured this one had gone off the rails when IU Baseball Twitter suddenly quit posting updates after the 7th inning.

So many game winners these days get ruined by officials constantly blowing their whistles and needing to confirm it. Anyone who's ever watched a basketball game knew that was good as it was happening.

IUWBB - News and Notes
TheWatShot replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Women's Basketball
My biggest worry recently has been that they'll try and get Glenn Box from Miami while we stick with a coach who's in the exit lane of her career. Hopefully he's not interested or they look elsewhere. -
Thankfully the committee doesn't consist of all the old heads on IU message boards who think we have to win the BTT.

I know the arc of champions has always been top 25 for offense and defense, but if you're looking only at defense, it really needs to be more like top 10-15. The lowest defensive ranking for a national champion was Baylor in 2021, coming in at #22. That was also during Covid, with a shortened season and weird environments, so a slight asterisk there. The worst defensive rating for a champion was Villanova in 2018, at 94.0, which ranked 11th that year. National champions usually have a defensive rating in the high 80's/low 90's, which usually ranks in the top 10-15 for that season.

Michigan's Kenpom rating reached 39.45 last night, eclipsing the record they set earlier this season of 39.43.

UK just lost at home to Georgia for the first time since 2009. Georgia improves to 5-66 all time on the road against UK.

Still can't believe how bad Oregon is. 2:51 to go in the first half and they have 15 points against Minnesota, at home.

There was another one about a minute before that where they gave Iowa the ball even though it was pretty obviously off Iowa even in real time. It was overturned after review. I wonder if anyone had ever rushed the court after beating Nebraska.
