I don’t know what’s going on inside the program and with Moren right now but the idea of calling for her resignation or moving on for 1 season of failure, following a mass exodus, and with an outstanding best ever incoming class, is just plain moronic to me. What a fair weather fickle unfocused approach to team building. One would think the most successful coach ever would have fans’ giving her the benefit the doubt for 1 year but I guess basic common sense is a lost art. if she really is burnt out and ready to resign or walk it will come from her. If this is just a disaster of a season following the mass exodus then she’ll do well next season with the incoming talent and this thread will be a bad joke.

Anyone else feeling bittersweet that we may never see a team so special again? That we don’t get another game to watch? I can’t wait for the ‘26 team but there’s no topping perfection. And yet: ‘24-present IUFB is the best sports story of basically any lifetime, and we get to watch chapter 3 starting with spring ball.

Don’t forget Michigan plays a non con game against Duke in February. Cannot wait for that game

I get why some do. I don’t. College teams are transitory and it is what it is. I’m thrilled it happened and I get to rewatch it for years. Next year’s team and likely teams beyond that will have chances to do special things too that would be extremely enjoyable for us fans. For those who experienced ‘76, I’m sure they still had a great time in ‘81 and ‘87! And to be clear, I don’t need a natty to enjoy this IUFB program. I can’t wait for the spring game. A lot of exciting new players to see.

Staying the course can make sense. For example, early on in his tenure Painter made the tourney six straight seasons, then he changed his recruiting strategy, resulting in two bad seasons with tourney misses. But, he corrected his recruiting errors and has since went on a pretty good decade long run. If PU fired him in 2014 I highly doubt their next 10 years would have been as good. I don't know everything happening behind the scenes, but if Teri is up for it, given her overall track record and the uptick in recruiting there seems to be a reasonable case to stay the course. A firing would be a big reset that brings a lot of risk too -- no guarantees the new coach is better and flipping the roster is tough.

Not sure the whole backstory with Bostad leaving UW but a friend from up there told me recently that Bob left to go somewhere that would play with the NIL big boys. At the time UW didn’t have their house in order. Of course now they’re trying to salvage Fickell’s tenure but speaks broadly to the significance of the groundwork Dolson etc. laid not just toward acquiring on-field talent but coaching talent too.

I mean the program was in gutter before she came. Unless she’s done on her volition then she gets another year at minimum. Woodson got better treatment and he was an absolute program killer.

What's frustrating about this game is UCLA is not a very good team but they are bigger and more athletic. And the is the one the worst officiated games I've seen all year.

I can count on probably my fingers and toes the players I’ve ever seen who make basketball look as easy as Darryn Peterson does. If the Pacers end up with the 1st pick I don’t care about fit, it’s that kid.

Haha IMO, no, not out of sense of loyalty but the absence of panicking as long as there's a coherent plan in place. The recruiting class suggests there is a coherent plan in place. This year is a lost cause, so retain the talented underclassmen and get ready to compete next year. If that doesn't work out, time to move on. But blowing it up now easily introduces way more risk for a program like IUWBB imo.

I assure you Geno would be forgiven several times over for multiple stinker seasons at UConn before fans lost hope in him. And our women's basketball program is nowhere near the same universe as theirs. IMO it would be different if she wasn't recruiting at the highest level in program history despite this rough patch. I'd rather see if she can right the ship next season before pulling the plug on the best coach IUWBB has ever had.

We will never see a team this special again. Not at IU and probably never anywhere. They started the season as the team with the most losses all time. It’s bittersweet but this team was special in a way that no team we ever see will be

Games today! Thought it was tomorrow. UCLA hasn’t lost at home if my quick search is right. Going to be incredibly hard. Not counting on it. However, for all those reasons a win would be huge. Their roster isn’t too intimidating but Bilodeau and Dent and legit. Let’s steal one.

We need 2 good wins in a row. In the past few years we have a stellar win, then next game, we lay the Mother of all eggs. Hope we break that cycle TODAY! GO HOOSIERS! Get a much needed road win!

Could’ve also easily got his first taste of college ball since his GA days and remembered how awful the quality of life is compared to the NFL. That’s a really difficult change for some people to make. 100% agree on Tino, especially if it happens this offseason. Seems too obvious.

I’m sorry, but whose fault is it that they are dead last in the big ten and winless? Can anyone honestly say the coaching and team building has been outstanding the last couple of years? Who’s to blame for the mass exodus? I think it would be very difficult to go from first to last in 4 years or so, you’d have to about try to do it. Watching the games, the level of play is atrocious. She hasn’t figured out a press in 10 years. It’s time to move on. She doesn’t like nil. How many times have you heard “I only want a certain kind of player to be here” well it doesn’t work anymore. And then there’s the classic help is on the way. I love Mike Davis, and that didn’t work out then either. But in today’s world a committ doesn’t matter. After this disaster of a season I’ll be shocked if any of the recruits actually show up. Party is over. Assembly hall wants to be rocking.

I get it. Most on here only care about IU results and think IU games are played in a vacuum. They could care less what other bubble teams are doing throughout the year. Fans of teams normally hang on to each result like it’s life or death. My lens is through the eyes of a bracketologist instead of a fan. 32 pieces of the puzzle to get the whole picture. Looking forward to seeing if they take advantage of the opportunities that will be in front of them

I think you might find quite a few folks upset if IU lost Bostad and some others perhaps.

I thought I read Fickell let Bostad go when he came in and Allen hired him on? Either way their loss was our gain. Thankfully he wanted to stay when Cig came in. I’m quite certain Cig knows Bostads value. I saw the interview that he said he saw Bostad was on staff and immediately reached out to see if he would stay on. Bostad is elite and would be as big of a loss as anyone on our staff.

Yeah none of us are naive, very important and remains to be seen that the key players return and that she adds a player or 2 from the portal but statements like she’s washed up are so inanely brain dead it’s comical. She literally just won with the U19 national team to go with getting the right assistant in to help land our best class. Just ignore 10 straight tournament appearances. Just ignore her national team success as assistant and HC. Just ignore that this was obviously a rebuilding year after she lost almost the entire team to graduation and the portal - sure, blame her for that is fair she’s the HC she should have planned and restructured sooner, but washed up?? Completely brain dead

You counting Sparty at home in the 5? Rutgers had them beat at home. I personally look at the Sparty home game as a game where IU has a chance to to win

They could win at UCLA and then lose 9 straight. UCLA game is just 1 piece of the puzzle. People thought they should have won at Minny and they lost. People thought they would lose to Purdue and they won. IU is bubble team that will have plenty of opportunities to play themselves off the bubble or play themselves out of consideration
