  1. Personally, I love that the rest of the country - the SEC in particular - believes that "if Indiana can do it, so can they." Cignetti was a perfect storm and was both beneficiary and master of the portal and NIL. He brought 13 starters from a ranked team with him. He brought culture and expectations. He brought a familiar, successful, and experienced staff. The turnaround was rapid because of it and much bigger than any of us had a right to anticipate. What he did here cannot be duplicated. Ever. It was a one time event, managed perfectly with a very defined and singular set of circumstances. He was the perfect fit at the perfect time at the perfect place with the perfect circumstances. Lane Kiffin isn't going to do any more at LSU than he did at Ole Miss and LSU paid $70 million to find out. That will happen all over the country. And here we'll sit with everyone else wondering how in the hell we did it. They aren't paying attention to the why or the how. They care only about the "what." And we will watch them all go crazy trying to figure out what we already know. Curt Cignetti - first of all - is one of one. He's Bob Knight reincarnated....football version. The circumstances under which he came here and succeeded won't ever exist again. And it will never be "spending" that succeeds. You have to have what he does....an acute understanding of "how" and the discipline to stay with it. Anyone think Lane Kiffin can do that? He also got every move right when he got here and has continued. He is a leader and he builds leaders. I wish I had a daughter so I could introduce her to Aidan Fisher and others. I wish I were hiring and needed young people to grow and run my company. How many kids on that team will kill it professionally? I am going to truly enjoy the rest of college football chase and try to emulate what Indiana has done. The fools will never understand and I promise we will be the beneficiaries of the craziness.

  2. This actually began in 2020 when Indiana beat Michigan for the first time since 1987. Consider this moment rock bottom for the Harbaugh era of Michigan football, and we saw what ”measures were taken“ the following season... Now Indiana‘s immediate success under Curt Cignetti is contributing to the rapid firing of coaches all over the country. “If Indiana can do it then there’s no reason why we can’t have immediate success as well!” This is misguided and is getting a lot of quality coaches canned prematurely or due to irrational standards from their own programs. It’s quite incredible to watch.

  8. This is the beginning of a 4 game stretch where we are gonna learn a lot about our team. 0-4 possible a new topic getting created 1-3 disappointing but we can grow from it 2-2 kinda what we expected. 3-1 oh yeah we can make some noise 4-0 we’re back baby

  9. Haines would take a $1.2 million annual pay cut to be the head guy at JMU. I'm thinking that Haines will get a HC job that is more in line with legit salary expectations.

  10. That’s great Adidas, thanks, but we need you involved a little bit before 12-0 and Heisman contention. We’ve got a big portal coming up and like it or not we’re one of, if not the best football program you have. So maybe throw some $ our way now for the portal and trust our staff. In return you’ll get that exposure you want… /rant over

  12. This team will be fine. Playing against one of the two best centers in the country in Crooks yesterday (Lauren Betts is the other on UCLA) without your post player and you hung in the game tells me team will be solid. Also, most importantly Ciezki is thriving in the second year in this system as a transfer similar to Scalia's trajectory. This tells me Big Z and Phoenix while solid this year, will really thrive next year. These two players are the legit transfers of this class and just need to mature into their role here. The other transfers were last minute fill in's I don't see much more coming of. Team will finish similar to last year as back end tourney squad this season. They should really make hay up the Big Ten in 2026-2027 with Beaumont, Big Z, Phoenix, Caffey, Makalusky, and the two stud freshman coming in Gigi Battle and Addy Nyemchek who will be even more game ready than Caffey and Makalusky are now with more athleticism. That's a nice core along with any transfers to really hit another peak in 2026-2027 and beyond.

  15. My God -- just saw this. Who watched the game? Yeah, Crooks' play in the paint is unfair -- especially when she can get away with this sh-t. Did she do this the entire afternoon? There are three officials on the floor and NO ONE saw that? Even Stevie Wonder would've blown the whistle. She's walkin'. Yes indeed -- she's walkin'. https://x.com/NaismithTrophy/status/1995216780755890302?s=20

  27. I would say Minnesota is a very soft 4-4 at that, having lost to every decent team they’ve played and needing overtime to beat Green Bay. Tough place to play, but it’d be disappointing to drop this one.

  28. We've been eyeing this potential game for weeks. And now it is set. The lines are out and right now IU is generally around +5.5. This will be a very hard game, but if we can win at Autzen, we can win this one. Go IU! Radio - Varsity Network Radio - WHCC105

JMU had a pretty massive offer/roster commitment on the table for Bob. Money isn’t an issue there.

  30. Yep Coach Cignetti is one of one. Very few, if any like him out there. Hopefully one day he writes a book memorializing all of that knowledge of success and running an organization. Now, don't ever mention Coach Cignetti and that a$$hat Lane Kiffin in the same post again. One's a douchbag and the other is Curt Cignetti. :)

  31. This is spot on. There is nobody else coaching right now at any level that has the ability to demand what Cignetti demands and keep everyone bought in. There is no “next Cignetti” out there right now. The answer he gave in yesterday’s press conference about whether the loser of the OSU-IU game deserves a bye is very telling. We know how every other coach in the country would have answered that question. Cignetti said his team needs to go out and earn it. Because he knows they will. Enjoy and appreciate what we have right now, my friends. We are the envy of every fan base in the country.

  32. Two years from now with a senior Beaumont and Zania, junior Caffey and Makalusky, and two big time sophomores? That reads like a national championship contender to me.

  33. Put the ISU game behind us and move on. With a 6:00 tipoff hopefully the game will essentially be over at halftime so you can tune in to the 7:00 tipoff of IUBB at Minnesota and not feel guilty. Western Michigan (1-4) its only win a 1-point win over Milwaukee. It has a -18.6 scoring margin. Not a team blessed with a lot of height so even if Z doesn't play, we should be able to at least hold our own on the boards. Weak offensively averaging just 58 ppg shooting 36% from the field and 27% on 3s. They turn the ball over 20/gm. Radio Live Stats

So that makes, what, UK, UF, Auburn, Arkansas, Ole Miss, and LSU, correct? Man, if you’d said a month ago that the SEC was going to be replacing 1/3 of their HC’s and Shane Beamer wouldn’t be one of them that person would officially be an oracle right now.

  38. Another interesting note based on stats I can find and, imo, one of the most important “basic” stats in football: IU’s offense is #1 in 3rd down conversions, OSU is #2. IU’s defense is 4th in 3rd down stop rate, OSU’s is 2nd. Whoever wins that battle will be a step ahead.

  42. Riley getting into the spirit! “I’m a little bit new to it, but I hate Purdue” Nowakowski said when asked about the Bucket Game. He did have a great guide to the rivalry in fellow tight end James Bomba. “This guy has been here six years, raised down the street, and having him in my room, I just talked to him about it, just kind of really trying to listen and hear what he has to say. You know, he’s a guy where it really means a lot to him, right? He’s been born and raised in this rivalry” Nowakowski said." https://hoosierhuddle.com/2025/11/26/i-hate-purdue-riley-nowakowski/
