Fran has had Iowa very respectable over his stretch. Seeing what McCollum can do will be interesting. he’s gonna win a lot I think. But the B1G will be a gauntlet with the level of athlete he’s used to. Danny Sprinkle comes to mind. Just for some perspective: Nico Medved went 17-17 in his sole season at Drake. He was immediately followed by DeVries who averaged a 25-9 record over the next six years. Pagoda, IUHoosierJoe, go iu bb and 1 other 4 Quote

DeVries had 26 more years of D1 experience, has utilized the transfer portal for big targets and showed the ability to translate from mid-major to P4. I just don't think Dolson wanted McCollum over DeVries. IUHoosierJoe, MemphisHoosier, Pagoda and 4 others 7 Quote

spe317 Posted March 23 Posted March 23 McCollum takes ages to decide. And with his team in the tourney I think his schedule was way behind. DDV was all about IU and that’s that. Hoosierfanyuh and Chris007 2 Quote

IvanRenkosillegitimatechild Posted March 24 Posted March 24 I’m glad that Clifford is a super senior and not coming with Medved to Minnesota lol. I assume tomorrow or Tuesday Medved to Minnesota will be announced then hopefully soon after Ostrom announces he’s going to Minnesota too WayneFleekHoosier 1 Quote

WayneFleekHoosier Posted March 24 Posted March 24 Who has Villanova hired? They still going for Willard? Can they wait a week? Interesting. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners Quote

Medveds sole season actually constituted a turnaround and the Devries took it from there. Pretty good chance both can coach. Demo 1 Quote

Assuming he’s Minny’s guy, I imagine Medved would have enough leverage to get that cheap-a$$ administration to get in the game financially or he can just hang at the very good job he has now. And I’m gonna keep an eye on Ben Johnson. I think that guy’s a pretty good coach who got a pretty bad deal there. Given his age he’s got a chance to rehab himself in some mid- major job somewhere and maybe get a swing at another power conference job down the road. BannerVille, str8baller and Stuhoo 3 Quote

Richard Pitino Jr. and Ben Johnson are living examples that you can be a good coach, but if you're at a program that gives little support it won't go well.
