@RoadToZion Would love to hear one day some of the things you were hearing behind the scenes the last few days, including the moments leading up to the DeVries hire. We all appreciate you providing what you can in real time. I know that what you might hear can change rapidly from one moment to the next.

On paper this is a much better hire than Kentucky or Louisville made last year (or West Virginia for that matter!)

It's a much better hire than anyone has made this year. 

He's an actual basketball coach. IU will get talent especially in today's NIL world. He'll be set up for success. 

I'm very optimistic!

Comparing a A-10 team to a Big 12 team.  Bold strategy I would think the competition might be a little stronger in a league that got 8 teams in the field and most will argue should have got 9.   WV was in 100 percent of the brackets submitted

Scott’s @$$ is solidly on the hook for this. In 3 years we will likely have a fire Devries AND a fire Scott thread running concurrently. Time to hit the gym and get some of this anger out. Just a total cluster **** yet again from our administration.

My biggest gripe with this hire, other than it wouldn’t have even happened if he made the tournament…is that I’ve been pronouncing his name as Devrys and not Devreeze.

He was with Creighton from 2001-2018. That's when Dana Altman got it rolling through McDermott's first 6 seasons. 

He knows how to build a winning culture. He's got a talented son and players coming with him. Head start on portal. 

We got ourselves a weapon and gave him all the ammo he could ask for. 

Since the turn of the century, IU as a team has won 23+ games SIX times.  Don’t do it to yourself man.

He’d have to apply for a hardship waiver, same thing Goode is doing. He played in his first 16 games as a freshman before getting hurt. Doesn’t qualify for a medical redshirt.

This was to be his senior season and he only played the first 8 games before injury.  He'll get another year.

Be that as it may, the hire has been made. We'll see what happens. DD was nowhere on many people's list to be the HC. He'll have alot to prove

Under on 22.5. This program has to fight, scratch and claw its way to 20 wins every year now. No reason to think next year will be any different.
