They “Retired” Coach Woodson Thread

I’m definitely a “true” fan but I’ve identified problems with this roster and this team on the court before Woody did.

I agree that for the long term there needs to be a change.

However, you have multiple players, including TJD who have publicly stated that Woodson is their guy. That has to mean something.

If Pearl came to IU I’d be ecstatic. But players extolling the virtues of Woodson isn’t nothing

Everyone would be that’s not how it works.  Mid majors get the shaft every year.  Hopefully ISU makes it but I won’t be surprised if they are left out.  Just add them to the long list that have been screwed over the years

So say what you want about me, but i still believe woody is not the best coach for this program. I still want him gone for that reason. But he is coming back. It is what it is. This is the team I’ve loved and supported my whole life. I’m going to continue to support this team with every ounce of my being. Does that mean I have to support the coach, no. But dammit I hope somehow someway he proves me wrong and makes this team a damn powerhouse. Likely? Probably not. But dammit, let’s rally behind our Hoosiers and keep this streak going and let’s kill it in the portal and let’s just rally for next season.

I wouldn't count on that. I fully expect them to look for every excuse imaginable, even if it doesn't make sense, for anything short of a complete disaster of a season.

If that turns out to be true, then I am leaving... Screw Buckner, screw Woodson... I will be back when Indiana fires Woodson's sorry @$$ and hires a coach... until then, I am done watching, rooting and caring.

Thanks to all for letting me ride along the past couple of years... I'll be back some day (hopefully)...

I expect players to say good things about their coach. Letting players decide lead to Mike Davis without a proper search too.

Fine with me as well, just saying what you said about beating four non tourney teams isn’t the truth.

and, btw, if Indiana State had beaten Michigan State when they played the Spartans are likely out of the tourney and ISU is in.

Me still trying to figure out if I’m a true fan or not. Lol. Kidding aside, there’s obviously an “us versus the world” vibe from those speeches. If that’s what it takes for them to win keep winning then so be it!

Well, I won't have one. I won't spend another cent on IU gear or games as long as Woodson is coach.
