Bruce Pearl stalking the sideline like he does and barking at the refs would have AH electric. Hard not to picture him him in red. That is the kind of intensity that "bridges the gap" from modern IU to RMK, not nepotism. AH would be the most difficult place to play in the B1G again as it should be. Hard not to get too excited.

Saw this article was published a few hours ago. Has some of the tweets that were posted on here earlier in it, so not much else we haven’t seen or heard before. The fact is though, it shows that Bruce being tied to IU is certainly getting out there from more sides than one.

I got a chuckle out of that first article. Admits he talks about it being a dream job and sources say he'd take it without reservations....then ends it saying the timing isn't right b/c BP has a chance to become the all time wins leader at Auburn. Hah.

Is your TV screen burnt at the bottom from the scrolling on all the games you watch? Your cbb watching stamina is legendary. You’ve got some rainman like focus on watching every random game. Ever gone through all of D1 in a season to check and see if you’ve seen EVERY team play?

I got 4 TVs setup in the college basketball room and yeah I try to watch each D1 team at least once through the season

But without the raise/extension you could finance $4mil over 4ish years cheaper than giving him $1mil/yr for 8 years. It also doesn’t explain why you would give a guy a raise after a fairly routine season.  
 

Otherwise, I find that comment as insightful as any in this thread. 

I'd have to go back and look at the former buyout language, but perhaps it stipulated that the $4 million would be due on a specific date as 1 (or maybe 2) lump sum payments, and could not be paid out over a longer time period with smaller payments. Not sure, though...
