The price of doing business with UK I guess. Have to give them two home games to get one. Tells me IU wanted the series back badly enough to get shafted a bit and they may not be wrong if this was only way to do it.

I would have passed on this set up tbh.  If we should expect "to have a seat at the table" in recruiting top kids I would want the same concept here.  I would have been ok with 

year 1 - Yum Center

year 2 - UK or Bloomington

year 3 - Lucas Oil

year 4 - Bloomington or UK

No chance I would've agreed to that.  He wants two in ripoff arena then we get 2 in AH or 2 neutral and 2 home/home.  That agreement is garbage.

I would've told Cal to call back when he was serious and hung up. Zero chance I would've let IU get shafted like that.

IU will have 100% control of tickets at Lucas Oil and will make it a home atmosphere. I assume IU will offer to season ticket holders first and have a student section. However, when other 15k go on sale (I assume they will do midcourt set up with half attendance) to everyone + secondary market will be 30-40% UK fans. Basically the equivalent of an IU game vs. OSU in Bloomington. 

IU can spin it that they did it this way so more IU fans can go. However, reality is this is only way Cal would agree to series and IU will do anything to get it back and can't say I disagree.

Depends how bad you want series back. Some fans would walk over broken glass to get this series back even with this arrangement and are thrilled. If Cal was unwilling to budge from this current demand, I would have asked for 75-25 ticket split at Lucas Oil and 75-25 split at second Rupp game instead of 100-0 at Lucas Oil but I am not in charge. 

Also remember Gonzaga agreed to similar arrangement so IU is not alone.

I don't care if Gonzaga agreed to play the Warriors on Mount Olympus.  If Cal wasn't willing to budge from that then he wasn't serious, he can call back when he is serious.

Apparently athletic department disagrees and wants to play UK bad enough to take a lesser deal similar Gonzaga.

Unpopular opinion, but it’s better to have UK on our schedule than not, regardless of the location details.  This is a game against a marquee opponent, that is a storied rival, and is guaranteed to get a national spotlight.  If we want to be more relevant, games like these will really help.

I’m good with it. Rupp is a pretty easy place to play. Bunch a blue hairs-way easier than many B1G arenas.

Helluva lot easier than it’ll be for UK’s immature 18 year olds early in the season in Lucas with 80% IU fans and Cal doing a shitty job coaching them.

We'd better beat these f*ckers. Whatever Woodson uses to prep for the Purdue games, he needs to use for these. I'm sick of the narrative that we need UK to make us relevant and should let them dictate everything.
