  1. Finally bought me a litany of IU championship tees off of Rally House, months after the fact, but hey; today was the day I finally had some spending money.
  2. The downside of IU being a great program means that I'll have to wait for the Big Ten Championship to see them (until they kill that thing), so my plan this season is to go to the funny meme game in October that is Ball State's homecoming.
  3. Isn't College Station surrounded by forest and swamplands?
  4. Remember all those years we got excited about receiving votes?
  5. If we were the ones who broke the agreement, it looks bad on us. We have practically nothing but MAC and FCS cupcakes on the docket for the next 4 years (including two MAC opponents in 2028). I know that we are used to Indiana scheduling with the mindset of trying to get to six wins, but once you win a national title, people expect you to immediately stop doing that and play some teams that look like they aren't on the brink of disaster in the FBS level because let's face it; will the MAC even be around in 10 years? But if Notre Dame broke the agreement for the sake of renewing the USC rivalry, then I get it. It does suck that Notre Dame hardly ever plays us, but that was thanks to Indiana never taking football seriously and Notre Dame opting instead for traditions, which was why the chose Purdue due to proximity and the fact that Purdue at least had moments of glory (much as I hate saying it) Still... Cignetti can't knock the SEC model and then the SEC turns around and requires those schools to play an actual opponent (even if those schools are just going to schedule Maryland, Rutgers, and Oklahoma State). We have to start playing P4 schools ourselves.
  6. I attended that game as event staff. Funniest **** ever.
  7. Texas Tech won the Big XII last season, and they got more than enough talent this year alone to win again. The whole point wasn't to play him, but to stick it to the NCAA. A lot of these guys are never going to make it to the NFL, so they want to milk as much NIL as possible. And unfortunately, now we're at that point where we must ask "Okay, how long are you going to actually stick around in college, because you can't spend your entire life playing college football". Not playing him would probably make some amends, but I think we've crossed that proverbial Rubicon at this point.
  8. The one good player we had at IU Indy, Kyler D'Augustino, is transferring. I was very pessimistic after this season. Now I'm extremely pessimistic.
  9. The one thing I agree with Bob Knight about is how much I hate the tournament.
  10. Man, I ******* hate this "we're too good for the other tournaments" mindset we still have. None of the seniors on our team are NBA material; if they wanted to keep playing, let's at least give them a chance.
  11. I gotta say, I'm not a convert to Ben Howlett and his System as the one IU Indianapolis guy on here. But he legitimately thought he didn't need a big man in the Horizon League and that guaranteed a last place finish. Hopefully once he gets actual D1 talent he can finish 11th out of 12 teams this upcoming year. Least we finally have a new arena at last.
  12. This is a loss that knocks us out of consideration for the tournament. And because we're too good for the lesser events, our season ended today.
  13. Ah, ****. See, I'm fine with the Pacers losing cause of the circumstances (was at Gainbridge tonight) but this Hoosiers team losing means no postseason tournament after Chicago.
  14. It's the funniest ****, really. For years the MAC had the closest geographic identity... Besides the three years UCF was there. But now UMass and Sacramento State are in the same conference and suddenly Conference USA doesn't look as demented.
  15. If we played them one week earlier they would have been!
  16. If they can limp their way to #12 in the CFP poll, they'll do whatever it takes.
  17. USC gets two bye weeks but only because they scheduled a Week 0 game... which currently has no opponent.
  18. Worst case scenario, this is a loss that ensures Purdue is denied a top 4 seed in the tournament.
  19. Jeez, and we just got rid of the old guy, lol. I think the big problem is that, besides the football paradigm shift, is that Indiana just isn't that alluring a school anymore for basketball athletes anymore. The coaches we get have a harder sell based on the lack of success, yet fans and donors still have the same expectations of 1987. I mean... If we don't want to play on the NIT yet the team is mid AF, then what are we?
  20. High expectations every year in basketball only to be let down in conference play? That sounds about right for Purdue.
  21. Should have been nice and rounded @Stuhooto a flat 0 at the end of the year.
