My last bit of enthusiasm came from holding out for a big fish once Woodson got fired. It got me through the last four years knowing that he wasn’t a long-term hire. Now, though, it’s crystal clear what IU is as a basketball program and I can adjust accordingly. I wish I could’ve witnessed the IU of old, but maybe Coach Cig can bring back some of that magic. There hasn't been a big name coach hired at a major Blue Blood program in some time. Louisville and Kentucky just hired guys who never won a NCAA tournament game last year. Unless something happens like with Calipari being forced out, the odds that in the NIL era that a coach who's winning and has a comfortable NIL set up to move schools isn't likely. the choices are going to be reclamation projects or up and coming coaches and it has nothing to do with Indiana at a program. If IU is out and the insiders are right, there should be no reason why massive leaks or an actual announcement could not come out Monday morning. Right or wrong? If it’s Stevens, Dolson should be shouting it to the wind. Tell me why I am wrong. Correct for the most part. If IU is out and there's no announcement by Tuesday, I would say IU's next coach is coaching in the tournament 100%. theriverpilot, mdn82, Silat Player and 9 others 10 2

Popular Post Asha’man Posted March 14 Popular Post Posted March 14 If it’s not the A tier candidates I’d much rather take a swing at a guy like McCollum than someone like Brownell. I just want IU to be successful and it’s going to take a lot if we go this route. Dolson knows this but it might be his only option but I don’t think so. Can’t wait to hear though. Hornsby Posted March 14 Posted March 14 Yep it's going to be a risk to find out how he is as a recruiter at this level. First cycle at D1 level without much of his core from Drake. We'll see what he's made of... he's apparently impressive to a lot of people that are impressive in their own right. The fact he's put plenty of D2 guys into professional leagues overseas says a lot about his development. I don't care if he hasn't landed a Burger Boy (YET)... I'd expect him to pursue a couple every year, maybe get one, but primarily focus on scouting his kind of players in HS, developing them, and spending most of NIL on portal guys to fill in gaps. As you know recruiting is such an interpersonal thing, I wouldn't hold his lack of NBA draftees against his ability to build relationships. We will see. Very capable coach. I like the vision. Should be fun. Another meh hire imo. I hope it works out, but I'm not expecting much honestly. Thought we could do much better Sent from my SM-A146U using Tapatalk Home Jersey and EasyEJay 2

Name me one McDonald’s All American he’s recruited? One NBA player? Astounding you say this after watching 4 burger boys the last two years at IU go 37-28, under .500 in conference. Having a system and vision for your offense/defense is a top priority. After that, being able to identify and develop talent that fits said system is paramount. Both things we’ve been missing the last four years while the coach chased recruiting rankings and top portal players. Shoes_N_Shorts, JustWinBaby, Scotty R and 7 others 10
HoosierInParadise Posted March 14 Posted March 14 I'm referring to Goodman's quote in his tweet.Nevermind...Goodman didn't quote Dolson, he quoted a source.
