OSU doesn't give the time for you to choose nursing or design or dental for example. They will not work around your schedule. Plenty of other schools do (my family has friends at other schools that girls are majoring in nursing for instance and playing a sport). OSU treats their athletes WELL but does not care about academics when it comes to scheduling or anything else. Their practice schedule comes first. I was specifically referencing OSU since I knew what it was like from our family there. I have no doubt there are plenty of student athletes that go on to do great things as we know first hand it takes alot to be a D1 athlete. Many however struggle as it's like having a full time job and going to school. I commend anyone that does it. It's not for the faint of heart.

Good news for now. NCAA just won another injunction in Georgia today. They have not been denied on these appeals yet.

We have a family member that was in athletics at OSU. All online classes. Paid out of state tuition for online classes and not many majors fit in their athletic schedules, so they end up with communications degrees or some other BS they don't want or isn't useful after. It was alot of money for the family to pay. They did it. Was great opportunity but the kid was always stressed and did not have time for anything but sports. School was an after thought.

Did you watch the interview with Tyler Morris recently? He is also not in class. Said he graduated last year and was not taking class right now. I really feel like if you are playing on a college team you should HAVE to take classes. Fish was interviewing him. I think it was on the Cig's show last week.

Haines may take that job. It was said on one of the interviews I watched that he doesn't want to leave for a steppingstone job. I know he also said himself though he doesn't have a burning desire to be a head coach at this point. With a baby at home however it would be hard to take a head job and have any sort of family life like he has at IU. The flip side is the $$$$ he will give up by not accepting a head job at some point.

LSU just countered by adding 2 guys to their roster to make 105. Not the guys in the lawsuit. So I’m sure those two are going to sue LSU for damages and won’t it be ironic if during discovery all Lane’s collusion comes out. He really is disgraceful and bad for college football.

I don't know if I believe it will be overturned. That opens the door for all kinds of challenges, but this is so nefarious that it is warranted imo. Good for the MAC for fighting back. The B1G is in the wrong and needs to be called out for such blatant idiocy. Voting UM out of the polls signifies everyone knows UM is 0-1.

Crazy Oregon dropped that far but I was not impressed. I do expect they will get better. Michigan out of the poll and now the MAC is asking the NCAA to award them the game siting B1G officials not following proper replay protocols. Will be interesting to see how this plays out. IU deservedly in top 5. I looked at a lot of the voting some had us as low as 8 some at 1. What will week 2 bring in CFB lol

Good points. Penn State may play for the B1G title just because of their schedule alone. We shall see if they lose to USC or Washington who I think both may be better than PSU. I think Michigan has to roll with Bryce for now but may end up benching him or having him split time with Carr. He seems worse than last year if that's possible. Agreed on their W/L record. I am going to Ann Arbor Oct 24 and was worried given all of the off season reports however unless they show major improvement I will go in confident that we will handle our business there. Oregon very unimpressive. Lanning will get them going but Dante Moore is overhyped IMO. OSU is a machine. It will be a dog fight in Bloomington. I am interested to see how well this new offense plays at Texas. Their o line still looked to be a problem in Week 1. Of the other teams I saw play, I thought LSU unfortunately looked strong but let's see how they look against better competition. Unfortunately, I do not think Ole Miss will beat them in week 3. Chambliss is the real deal, but their defense is not really going to be able to stop LSU imo. Miami also will be tough. That clash in South Bend will be telling. Did not think ND was as impressive as everyone is touting them to be. They may win that game and go into the CFP undefeated because of their joke of a schedule, but I do not think they win it all. Defense is strong. Offense will have issues when they run into an elite defense. Looking forward to week 2 and better games.

Defense to me was more concerning than offense and really it was all the missed tackles I saw. Haines will get it fixed and by the time we see Nebraska (who I think being on the road will test us slightly) we should be rounding into form. I will say my concerns in the secondary going into this season are valid. We will be missing ponds severely not to mention Moore Boykin and Fishers leadership/smarts on defense. Again hopefully by Nebraska we see some drastic improvement. Offense I think we will be lethal. 3 great WR options plus Chandler is going to be hard for any defense to cover. Then you have turbo out of the backfield catching passes which I’ll say is a plus without a Riley at TE this season for those TE screens or even seam passes down the middle. Running backs take a hit without Khobie for now but what this does is hopefully give the backs behind Khobie some time. I don’t think the offensive line played particularly well in run or pass blocking. They will need to be much much better come B1G play. The running backs may not have looked the way we expected game 1 but I’m sure that will also look much different as we enter B1G play and especially by OSU. Special teams was excellent. Got to be careful with lee and Tyler returning as we can really not afford to lose either. Was not impressed with many teams in B1G save for OSU possibly USC. Oregon will be better but i don’t see that team beating osu at home. Michigan and Washington left me unimpressed at this stage. Washington likely improves a lot. Michigan is a hot mess and I won’t be surprised if we see Carr soon. Onward to week 2.

Looking better as he gets in rhythm but without that strong running game they will have to rely on him to dominate games.
-
Their offense has looked better with Joseph for sure but they need to get it in gear and push it down the field. I’m not impressed with ND at all. Aside from Carr, they look very average.
-
Embarrassment of a program. B1G referee crew needs to be investigated and dismissed. Oklahoma going to leave no doubt next week. I hope we curb stomp them week 8.
-
Michigan wins on a time clock error. That’s total BS.
-
Bryce looks dumbfounded as time expired. 27.5 point favorites.
-
.:38 left can Bryce pull a miracle after this putrid performance?
-
Wow Bryce potentially just fumbled the game away.
-
Whittingham looks like he’s about to stroke out on the sideline. They have no answer for Western Michigan run game.
-
Bryce just isn’t that good. They way over paid him and it appears they have to stick with him because they over paid him. At least at this point. Oklahoma not going to be easier next week.
-
Michigan looks bad. Underwood is not it. Holding the ball too long as you can see that processing/reading defenses isn’t his strong suit.
-
I’m sure Oregon will end up winning but color me skeptical on Dante Moore being any better this season. I was not a fan of his last season
