  1. Looks like he's set to announce for tomorrow?
  2. Exactly what i was thinking. Why commit if you want to visit other schools? This is the part of me that continues to think players use IU for other offers or more money from said other offers. I understand this is a part of the process with flipping commits but realistically speaking I just don't get why anyone commits before the deadline if they want to just continue fielding offers until they get the most enticing or biggest bag. Just my opinion ofcourse.
  3. Franklin is an excellent recruiter. He will get a good amount of talent at VT.
  4. Great pick up. Good to see him come off the board for us. Cautiously optimistic but like you say, we have to make it to signing day.
  5. I know we have had several RBs visit. But he would be the first RB commit to this class IF the prediction holds. Aside from our 3 that we know will be in the rotation this season do we have a lot of younger talent in the RB room already? Will we take another RB in this class?
  6. Thanks for the insight. I didn't expect him to say anything bad about Miami in the interview, but he never gave any hints why he hit the portal just that IU was the place he wanted to be when transferring. Really glad it worked out for him and his family. Sometimes a kid thinks they want to go far from home, but when they get there even if the sport is everything they wanted it to be (high level program, great coaching, winning culture) it still may not be the right fit. My niece is an example of that. She had it all but missed home, her boyfriend, and having a life that being a student athlete doesn't allow for at times. She was playing a big role on her team too, so it wasn't due to utilization or unhappiness with coaching. Coaches loved her she loved them. It was unfortunate but she was able to concentrate on school more, take in person classes again, and change her major to something she actually wanted to pursue instead of just doing a major that her sport allowed for due to practice time and scheduling. Fit is incredibly important along with the athlete's mental health. Glad he's a Hoosier!
  7. Good listen. Anyone know what the reason was for him leaving Miami? Said all the right things. We need someone to step up in the position. Riley left big shoes to fill.
  8. Good pick up. Seems like the staff is high on him.
  9. Agree. Insane ruling if that's what happens. But they are desperate, and it's perceived with their defense and Sorsby it is supposed to be their year. Likely hoping they can coast thru the first 6 games then return Sorsby and make a stronger statement to get into the playoffs as a high seed. Not sure I am convinced they will be much more than they were last year. Their offense was stagnant, and I guess Sorsby will improve that, but their coaching doesn't necessarily impress me (and didn't they lose someone key on their defensive staff?).
  10. Feels like they are reaching to find weaknesses or discount what Cig can do. Fernando was a question mark going into last year and before that Rourke. I am sure we will be just fine with Josh. WR room LOL sorry but that's a reach. Guess they forgot already who Charlie Becker is and what he did when given his chance. I'd imagine our other guys will step up next season given their opportunity. The league hates we are no longer the easy win and doormat of the conference.
  11. Another one who used IU to get better offers. This hs recruiting landscape is tiresome at this point. Best of luck to him on his next stop.
  12. Good pick up for IU. Hoping he stays committed as he begins to now get more attention and likely his rankings go up.
  13. Many saying OSU lean. Wouldn’t think they would have lower expectations but I don’t know what they sell to their recruits.
  14. Agreed alot are bag chasing and playing time guarantees. Cig isn't giving that. Kind of what I was saying about getting the IU offer and seeing what other high level offers come their way. Feels like some are using us. Cig gets in early then the 'blue bloods' or 'bigger dogs' come sniffing and all of the sudden they leave for what they consider greener pastures. Alot of the talk about Cig not being able to recruit hs is coming from opposing fan bases that claim our success isn't sustainable because Cig is getting all of his players from the portal and can't keep hs players committed or get the higher rated hs recruit. HS recruiting is a long game. Just seems like you don't see alot of loyalty after committing these days.
  15. Really have to wonder what is going on? Are these recruits using IUFB offers to get better offers or $$ or guaranteed playing time? It's head scratching that we keep losing recruits that 'commit' after winning the natty and having success with this staff for the last two years. In Cig we trust. Alot of negative talk out there though saying Cig still can't recruit hs. Kind of why I don't get excited about anyone that says they are coming until they sign and get on campus. Guaranteed Lettice on X will say IUFB cooled on him or something of the sort. He said that about Oglesby after it came out he's going to Kansas.
  16. I was hoping his teammate would come with him but kind of figured it may be one or the other. Im not really familiar with what we have on O-line for our younger guys at this point. Appears we have alot leaving after this season so I would guess that is why we have so many we are looking at in 27?
  17. Really great to see this news on Twitter tonight. Huge get for Bostad and Cig. These are the in state kids we need staying home and choosing IUFB.
  18. Any intel on this one where he’s leaning?
  19. Agree with you 100%. Until he arrives on campus, I won't put much stock in any commitment regardless of where he commits to. I think he will continue to court teams up until he signs.
  20. I will say that my niece went to a school 5 hours away and it was hard for my sister and husband to travel to see her often. They did get to as many as they could but there is something to being accessible to your athlete especially because as I said it's not as easy as it looks to be an athlete in college today regardless of the $$ and all that goes with it. There's alot of pressure and much less time for anything beyond online classes and practice. My niece had a close friend transfer closer to home because her parents never came and it took its toll on the girl. Kids don't think about all of that though when making decisions. It's money and what can you do for me now.
  21. I thought Hoover was a fifth-year senior this year? Wasn't aware he had more eligibility beyond this season.
  22. If he's as good as advertised, you would think he would have the confidence to come and compete. We have alot of young guys right now that are talented at TE. Staff has put alot of time in on him, but I think a lot of these hs kids really want to play now which Cig won't promise. But Kansas...LOL He's got OSU in his final 4. He could have gone to TTU to visit and cancelled. Either of those programs I could see if not IU but Kansas...wow. Really must be selling him quite the vision to give up playing for contenders in the B1G/CFP to play there.
  23. We are loaded in the TE room with young talented guys.
  24. I just read they offered him $$$ and the OC coached Tyler Warren and they are selling him on being Warren 2.0 Wish him the best. Thought he was ours to lose. Seemed pretty high on us but all could have been for optics or $$. It's pretty disheartening after winning a championship we are still getting passed on for...Kansas LOL On to the next. In Cig we trust.
  25. I saw that on X. That would be a head scratcher of a pick.
